WRESTLING legend Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts is preparing to return to the ring at the age of 57.

The iconic star, whose career was dogged by drug and alcohol problems, is being trained for his comeback by former WCW Champion Diamond Dallas Page.

Roberts will move into DDP’s Atlanta home and spend two months on an intense schedule of training, fitness and yoga.

Page will also attempt to school the veteran in using social media to promote himself and to contact his fans.

And his comeback will be filmed as part of a documentary.

Roberts is often described as the master of in-ring psychology and will go down in history as one of the best wrestlers never to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Although his peak came in the 1980s and early 1990s, newer fans will remember him as the man who Steve Austin beat in the much-replayed 1996 King of the Ring final and whose Christian beliefs saw the infamous ‘Austin 3:16’ quote enter WWE folklore.

DDP has become a key figure in the world of physical training since he retired form full-time wrestling in 2005.

His yoga regime and fitness techniques are used by sportsmen and celebrities across the board.

Page said: “Bottom line is, everybody wants the comeback story.

“Everybody wants to see Jake look good, and feel good, and not be a mess anymore. That would be great.

“I think there are a lot of really positive things that can come out of this if Jake really does it.”
