As a culture advances and evolves, things become apparent that weren't before. The fact that our environment is fragile and easily shagged up is one of them, and that, whether we're wholly to blame or not, we certainly aren't helping

I think I may have been misunderstood - I should have mentioned I was replying to the editorial comment in the initial post that maybe gives Al a little too much credit for for brainwashing everyone but 400 brave scientists and cowing their spineless collegues into silence ("Just goes to show that Al Gore is a lying sack of **** looking to use the gullible to his own personal gain.")

Not all of the 400 who appear on the list as "prominent scientists" have actually researched climate change, e.g. Ray Kurzweil, the numerous economists, the welder, the political theorist. In going through it, the list seems to be full of people who have little-to-no climate change experience, including a growing number who represent Exxon Mobile funded front groups, i.e. David E. Wojick of the Heartland Institute (one of over 40 groups Exxon Mobile gives money to - groups who have a goal to introduce uncertainly about climate change into the 'conventional wisdom'). In using Kurzweil's quote from CNN, Inhofe deleted Kurzweil's line "I think global warming is real" - see my earlier post about quote mining and cherry picking (tactics also used by groups denying evolution).

So far, I have not found one person in Inhofe's release that disputes the existence of global warming.

In fact, in my reading of it so far, every person in Inhofe's release do not express any doubt about whether climate change IS real and a problem, the majority simply have divergent opinions about the degree of global warming, its consequences, and solutions; others believe Gore's warnings are too dire (certainly fair), others, when you read their full quotes prior to Inhofe's cherry picking, actually make points that dispute the report itself! All make the report's claim of "Over 400 Prominent Scientists Disputed Man-Made Global Warming Claims in 2007" disingenuous.

Btw, what tinfoil do you use? I'm a Reynolds man!
