Some tips I've learned: 1. If you have aftermarket tint on your windows, only dust them clean or use a slightly damp cloth (and then dry). DO NOT use commercial window cleaner like Windex, as the chemicals will eventually cause the black/blue tint to turn purple. 2. If you live alone and can't stand washing dishes, do what I do. When you finish using a glass for milk, juice, etc., just rinse out the glass and put it back in the refrigerator - don't put it in with the really dirty dishes to be washed immediately. You're just gonna use a glass again tomorrow for the same drink. Same for a dish that you use for a sandwich. If it only has a few crumbs but is otherwise clean, pop it in the fridge and use it tomorrow for tomorrow's sandwich. Putting them in the fridge assures that they won't get germy or smelly. Wash it after it becomes truly dirty or after 3-4 days of fairly clean use. I cut my dishwashing down by 50%. 3. When you're walking down the street and the nice older man pulls his car over to tell you he has some great candy in the trunk, DO NOT climb into the trunk to find the really special candy he says is hidden way in the back.

if you have trouble getting the pull tab on a can started to open it, stick the tip of a knife under it and lever it up that way.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

1. If you run across a person that you don't like, try imagining yourself in his/her shoes. You may have a lot more in common with that person than you think.
2. Learn to respect as many people as you can. That doesn't necessarily mean that you have to like them. Build self-respect as well.
3. If you are learning a skill, let you skill build naturally so that way you won't stress yourself out about being the best. People who quickly rise to the top seem to fall to the bottom quickly as well. You may not rise as fast as others, but you're chances of finishing on top are better if you had to work to get there.
Those are my 3 mottos for today. I just figured I'd vent out a little bit.
