Quote: You guys all make good points. It is a compliment in some twisted way, but without being acknowledged you're still getting ripped off. This is a drastic suggestion but does anyone think it would cut down the use of the sweeping programs if we made it so that you have to be logged in to view the forums? Maybe not the main page or category pages, but the actual posts. Again it's extreme and I prefer an open forum as I'm sure everyone else does, I just wonder if it would help.
That suggestion more than anything else would help, I'm sure. I imagine one of the reasons they steal the imagecodes from this site so frequently is because a login isn't required to view the forums here.

Unfortunately, the viewers who are not logged in outnumber the registered users who do log in by 4 or 5 to 1 at any given time. It's they that view the advertising that runs this place.

It would also drastically reduce the number of new registered users we get here. So many of the introduction posts include something like "I lurked here for a year before registering". Without new users joining and eventually becoming posters themselves the forum would die.
I just checked the Celebrity123 site and the webmaster there has gone to a new layout. In addition to changing how he(/she) displays links, he's added a "Links" page with links to other sites including Superior Pics. Still nothing to indicate that's where he's been getting the pics he shows from but it almost a step in the right direction.
Quote: I'd say that was a step in the right direction. Well, perhaps not a step. More of a shuffle.
A scuff of his shoes in the right direction?
Of course, I start to check out some of the other links and what do I find? Celebrity Cache has stolen the links to the Under the Radar magazine scans of Zooey that I made last week. And it looks like most of the other Zooey pictures they have were posted by myself and others here at SP.

That's true, but on the other hand, the only way to steal the image codes if not logged in is to click on each pic and go to the imagehost site to get the codes. If you're not logged in, you can't click the <Quote> button to copy the codes. (Unless there is software that will scan the post and grab the codes, which I don't see any way to prevent.)

That's a good point. I had not thought of that.
