If anyone can give me a few simple pointers on how to edit such a video and what tool (program) to use for it, I'd appreaciate a personal message about it. Preferably open source or similar free software preferred.
If its an avi file use Solveig MultiMedia AVI trimmer, its free and it was made specifically to fix the audio sync problems when trying to trim AVI (Divx/Xvid) files. I use it alot.

I found avidemux2 to be the right tool for the job. I also tried VirtualDub but it created too large files (or too grainy pics) and didn't have the option of simply copying frames from a source avi file.
I'm uploading the result right now and will make a new post when it's up.

All of the torrents that say "hdtv" but are around 350mb aren't encoded at a hdtv video resolution size. they were recorded from the hd channel, but the actual video isn't hd.
