Scientologists are going to be open to ridicule so long as they remain an organized religion.
Agreed.

You should have free speech in picture threads as long as the dicussion is relevant to the subject of the thread.

We all have a right to Freedom of Speech here. And that also means allowing and protecting unpopular speech. Including but not limited to Religion, Sex, Politics and/or World Events.

Matters of faith, by definition, do not require scientific proof. Likewise, matters of science don't require elements of faith. Both are separate philosophies, each governed by their own rule sets.
The discussion of whether or not homosexuality is a choice reminded me of the Patton Oswalt bit about gay retards -- if sexual orientation isn't a choice, then there would have to be gay retarded people, right? As Patton says:
"We're here! ... We're queer! ... Apples!"
Which raises the obvious question: Where are all of the gay retarded people?
I'm sorry if I end up starting another debate, but I'm not sure I follow the logic behind this. Is Patton Oswalt insinuating that mentally challenged people can't make decisions? I mean I've already disagreed about sexuality being a choice, but if it is then what does that have to do with a lack of homosexual retards? And on that note, is there really a lack or is it just that the majority of the public doesn't spend enough time with the mentally handicapped to really know?
P.S. I agree to DLH's 7 terms

Okay, maybe a little bit too harsh. Awesome in what way?
Awesome like the first time you put your hand down a girl's panties. Awesome like the feeling of watching a pornographic film in 3D. Awesome like the feeling of wet sand between your toes on a beautiful beach. Awesome like how cool it would be slice a man in half with a lightsaber.

That kind of Awesome.
There is the small matter of you being an artifact of an Organized Religion, which would logically mean that ridiculling you would fall under your own point #2.

I know you were being serious, but that was honestly the funniest thing I've read all day.
You can make a point and keep your sense of humor, too.
Dtravel's right with most of the seven points. You don't have to be Tammy Faye Baker to be religious. A lot of people have churches they belong, too. No one brings up that she's Jewish in Rachel Bilson posts. It just doesn't happen. Certainly know one says she's lame because she's Jewish. I can't imagine that comment would be allowed to stay in a picture forum thread.
You can't say someone is a "hack, no-talent c-word", which ends the freedom of speech argument. Insulting a religion, regardless of how lame that religion, is just as inflamatory, and SP doesn't need to allow it. They can if they want, but they don't need to.
