This episode was pretty bad. The first and third clips are only notable for Cecily talking dirty and being given large breasts. The Californians is the one sketch I'd rather Nasim not be in because I'd rather not save it. This isn't the first time the cast 'breaked' during that sketch, and I think they do it on purpose to help the sketch.
I think SNL has had some good years lately..and it's very good now. The chick that does "Katie Holmes" is dead-on, and Hader and Jason are solid journeymen sketch artists. Seth Meyers is razor sharp with weekend update, and I almost laugh at "Drunk Uncle".
The chick in the black bodysuit (avengers) is very talented and will get more to do....
I guess you don't like "The Californians", but as a Californian, this is the best thing they've done in a long time IMHO...However, it should be called "The Southern Californians"... The freeway, boulevard and street references are not only dead-on, they are within the lexicon of normal conversation out here...just like "Turnpike', and the "Van Wyck" back East...it's funny as hell...plus the "Soap" aspect is so overdone it's perfect.
I'd say they should let Vanessa do "Miley Cyrus" more though..with the new haircut and all.
I've been through some Horrible SNL casts/seasons...so it's easy to appreciate the 'good' ones.

I'm in SoCal. It might be spot on, but that doesn't mean it's strong enough to build a recurring sketch around. Calling out the lexicon can be funny, but then it becomes just a mad lib that uses mapquest. Plug two addresses in, and you have a third of the script.
I've been watching SNL for several years, since I learned Kristin Wiig was a cast member, and I regularly enjoy it. I just don't think there's much to the Californians sketch, and that this past week wasn't one of their good shows.
