After seeing the the covers from The Return of Bruce Wayne posted in chat, I decided to give it a look, although I very rarely read comics. After reading it, I can say that it works well enough without knowing any of the backstory, and that this actually benefited the amnesiatic plotline in the way you would expect. (The only part that threw me was seeing Batman in modern day Gotham. In the last book they explicitly say it is Grayson, but until then I could only assume it was someone else and not some time paradox version of Bruce). Overall, I really enjoyed it, and didn't find my utter lack of comics knowledge to be a limiting factor.
I think the Bones of Bristol Bay was my favorite. I found the illustrations to read really clearly, effectively, and in the best way directionally (e.g. the reveal of the bat people hanging in the cave), and I might seek out more Yanick Paquette. I also found the somewhat reductive palette of blue and orange to be really evocative, liked the reveal of Jack Loggins as the Black Pirate, and thought that of any of the books it handles the eclipse motif best. The downside is that Bruce doesn't wear an awesome period version of his costume, although the cape and cowl he has during the second half does neatly link him to Red Robin.

Oh, some aspects of Swamp Thing will really get you. The current storyline since the character's return is he's one of two defenders of life, representing the green(plant life) againt the forces of the rot, or dead.

Aparantly these Kotobukiya statues are only gonna be $40 each, I find that hard to believe but if they are I'll be getting the whole justice league.
