Oh please what a crock of shit; if you can't see through that you almost deserve to be conned.
That's my view of it. Anyone dumb enough to be taken by such an obvious scheme more or less deserves it. In the end, though, it's their money and their lives.
As mentioned, people didn't hate Cruise till he jumped on a couch. He's done some hateable things before that--take a look at his Today Show interview about Brooke Shields, for instance--but people don't hate him for that.
Scientology being made into some frightening evil thing in this day and age...it's ridiculous. I was watching ET's coverage and it was absurd, as if Katie was held hostage, as if this was the Middle Ages and Kate was some virgin held against her will because she was regarded as an "unclean spirit" and was about to exorcised. Scientology (whatever it is, religion, cult, philosophy) can not be as bad as it is being portrayed by the media, I'm sure. Hollywood seems strangely hostile to Scientology. There are all kinds of "strange" religions, cults, philosophies (and let's not forget the crazy and colorful people that make up the Hollywood), and I assume the main reason they're going after Scientology is that it's slowly gaining power and influence.
ET has gone downhill since Mary Hart left. Used to be a fluffy but pretty decent half hour show to kill some time about celebs past and present. Now it has become the primary speaking peace for the gay agenda.
I think it is just following the media as a whole on its religion is just bad agenda.
And you're absolutely right about Hollywood it's all about the latest flavour or trend be it the latest "religious fad" medium or whatever.Nothing actually is old and long lasting in La la Land.

I'm perfectly willing to bet that most of the people in the media you revile will identify as an adherent of one religion or another.
Individuals members of the media may adere to one sect or another or none at all I suspect most members of the media are largely agnostic given that they are overwhelmingly liberal....and anyone who is politically neutral can see the MSM is not friendly to most religions particularly Christianity it does however treat Islam with respect so not to offend muslims.

It is exactly crocks of shit like that that make you utterly unworthy of being respected as a human being.

Are you for real Cut?
I couldn't care less whether or not you respect me as a human being and I know how much you detest conservatives with a fervent passion and blame them for everything that is wrong with America...but for crying out loud Cut...at least take your leftist blinders off when it come to the mainstream media and the way it handles news coverage of the world's top 3 global faiths especially how acts of violence being commited in the name of Allah by islamic fanatics.
Do you not even notice the difference how Islam is critisized if at all as opposed to christainity or judaism...? The msm is constantly being critical of Isreal whether the criticism is justified or not where it rarely criticizes Islam as a whole even when muslims commit acts of violence against thier fellow muslims.
Even Bill Maher an avowed atheist and critic of all religions can tell the difference of the fanatical element within both Islam and Christianity.

But you can't? "critical of Israel...where it rarely criticizes Islam as a whole." Islam is a religion, not a state. And just like Christianity, there are sects. Some stupider than others. The media does indeed report on the rare fundamentalist action, for example, 'terrorist acts' by Muslims, or Fundamentalist Christians surrounding and protesting a funeral with signs like "God hates fags" and "God loves a dead soldier". I can't believe I got drawn into this nonsense again. If you really have an OCD necessity to start up on the false left-right dichotomy and bias in the media, start a new topic in Politics. Or religion. Either would be applicable. I'll be happy to quote the dozens of things I've said on the subject again. Christ.

I think you're referring to the Westboro Baptist Church. That's the only group I know of that does protests at funerals.

Yes Feral you're right it is true there are sects within Christianity that are too extreme for my tastes as you rightly pointed out concerning those who call themselves christians and yet they hold up signs saying "God hates fags" and "God loves a dead soldier" cheered on by that fundamentalist nut in Westboro. But as bat shit crazy as some christian fundamentalists are such as Fred Phelps...they are an extreme minority they are few and far between..that's not the case for Islamic extremism.
Don't misunderstand me it is not Islam itself that is the problem the West needs to address it is the growing spreading extremist element that is threatening to overwhelm the faith and the moderate peaceful factions within it on a global scale and turning it into a death cult.
But you do make another good point... this topic is straying waaay off-topic and a discussion on the matter of media bias should be in the Politics/Religion sector. So I blame myself for my part.
