It just sends so many wrong signals.
It cuts down Shanahan's authority (again).
It goes against the mandate trying to cut down on concussions and hits to the head (one of the biggest issues for fans of all sports these days).
It's the commissioner of the NHL reducing the suspension of a player that plays for the team the NHL runs (conflict of interest).
It's seen as an olive branch to the NHLPA, trying to justify the appeals system works (while simultaneously throwing a bigger issue, player safety, to the back burner).
I wish he had of cut a couple more games off. Right before the suspension ends, Phoenix goes to Chicago. Oh well, I hope someone tears him in half later in the year. Time to call up Kyle Beach for that game!
