I thought it was good but not the best he has had. I guess he set the bar so high it will be impossible to hit that every episode. It was still better than anything else on that is considered a "comedy" and I did like it. Just for his standards wasn't the best to open a season in my opinion.
By the way there is a great article on him in this week's Entertainment Weekly where they call him the best currently which how can you argue?

Agreed. It certainly wasn't the best episode of Louie, but that's only because most of them are just perfect!Still, I think there were some great scenes, like the stand-up routine in the beginning, the whole sign discussion, his ex-wife being black!
I discovered Louis CK last year, when I stumbled upon Chewed Up on YouTube. Within days I had watched all of his shows, interviews, anything I could find. In my opinion, he isn't just the best currently, but he also one of the best ever.

It's interesting, because I remember watching his old stuff as a teenager, when he first did Letterman and the Tonight Show, and it wasn't even close to the harrowingly funny stuff he does now, but I cracked up just the same.
The other 2 parts are worth watching, if you are a fan. Even if you're not, it's fascinating to see how he's changed.

How was the first episode? I didn't watch yet, I was pretty disappointed with season 2. Season 1 was ok, had it's moments but overall I think his show is kind of dumb.
He is my favorite stand-up comedian but his show has such an odd and depressing brand of humor. Some of it is just more weird and depressing than funny.

That is what makes the show great in my opinion. His depressing scenarios played out for comedy. That is the basis of stand up and that is why he is the best because he is just Louie on stage, in interviews and in his show.

Okay, I just gotta say this. Louis CK and Robin Williams together? I hadn't seen any previews, so I just watched the episode and my head exploded! My two favorite comedians, brilliant!
Also, I would have knocked that kid out.
