Boneshaker. It started off a little slow and such but it's picking up and I am starting to like it. And I haven't even gotten to the part when "rotters"(zombies from the 1800's) become part of the story.
Intrigued, I looked up a synopsis. Sounds like a fascinating book. I can see steampunk becoming quite big in the next few years. Even Doctor Who is getting in on the act.
Yeah I was excited when I picked it up. I had been there for over an hour browsing until i found something that really piqued my interest. And this was before i realized it could turn into a sort of action zombie book. I have not gotten to that yet.

I think Shawn was honest about everything except for '95 to '97. It was a chore getting thru the Montreal chapter because I thought I was going to choke on the bullsh*t. It's strange how he was so brutally honest about his drug addiction but with Montreal and Bret he seemed to be blatantly lieing. He seemed more obsessed with Bret than Bret ever was with him. It makes me glad this thing is finally resolved.
I did like hearing him talk about putting a match together. There are so many great wrestlers but every one of them has a different view on how to work. Loved the brief section about running TWA and him calling Vince to apologize for being a pain in the ass. Also I liked his story of finding religion. Like he said he was not going to beat anybody over the head with a bible. He just explains how it has helped him and leaves it at that.
Good chunk of the book is Rockers stuff. He talks about Buddy Rose and Doug Sommer's teaching them how to work. The three day WWF run. The time in Alabama when he got on drugs really bad and got them fired. Getting to work heel in Memphis and how it helped them grow as wrestlers. He kinda buries Demolition saying they did not sell enough for them. But yeah Marty and the Rockers are a big part of the book. Big theme is Marty's lack of self confidence ruining his chances as a singles star.
Weird he did not feel the need to mention Marty in the acknowledgments.
I've just started reading People of the Lightning by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W. Michael Gear. It's a novel about prehistoric North Americans and takes place in Florida. I have read several of the books in this series and they are all good reads.

ahh dude I love Karl. He is on the ricky gervais show
let me know how it is. I was thinking of reading it.
I just finished it. It's bloody funny, as you'd expect coming from his brain. Well worth checking out if you like the utter drivel and nonsense he spouts on the show, along with his other book, Happyslapped by a Jellyfish. He's actually a brilliant illustrator, too.

So far, so good as far as laying out the evidence for evolution. I'd recommend it especially for anyone who has read The Blind Watchmaker, Counting Mount Improbable or The Selfish Gene. If you've only read The God Delusion, then this book might not be for you as this isn't so much about debunking religion as it is about dissolving creationism and intelligent design specifically.
