Finally saw "The Avengers"

Great movie from beginning to end. Ruffalo as the Hulk is the best one by far. Loved his character.

Starring the super adorahot Sara Paxton. Which is why I watched.

This movie is a slow burn horror flick. There are a couple of times that I got goosebumps from the "scares" so that was good. The movie is sort of slow moving but entertaining enough. If you want a lot of scares look elsewhere. But if you want some suspense of sorts and a slow build then you may like it.

Highly entertaining! Johnny Depp and the rest of the crew delivered once more in a Burton film. The music and the flamboyant re-enactment of the 70s is great! It only lacked a proper plot development. It seemed a bit off at times (I blame the bad script for that). Overall another Burton classic.

PS: I have watched the original series, so I am aware of the story, the characters etc, but I am one among of a few who didn't jump on the bitching bandwagon. Making comparisons, is of no use. I just enjoyed the movie for what it is.

Kick-Ass (2010)

Yeah, I'm 2 years behind on this one. Saw it on a DVD rental and had to drive about 15 miles to find a copy of it anywhere.

From the movie's hype I was looking to a lot of Hit Girl, but that wasn't the case. This was more of Kick Ass's movie. But Chloe Grace Moretz steals the movie anyway.

DVD extras are almost non-existent: no extended or cut scenes. There's supposed to be 18 minutes that were cut from the theater release and those aren't included. Boo for that!

I also read the movie's Wikipedia entry and it listed all the differences between the movie and the comic -- which I didn't read, so I watched the movie for itself. Looks like it was a small miracle this flick got made at all the way they wanted to. I can't see Hit Girl as a teenager, which is what some studios wanted.

I was thoroughly entertained by this flick. It's funny and the action scenes are amazing.

Now we have Kick-Ass 2 to look forward to:

Universal Pictures is close to finalizing deals with Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz to return for the sequel to the heart-warming Kick-Ass, Balls to the Wall, which will be directed by Jeff Wadlow.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse is also close to finalizing his deal, and Nicolas Cage is in negotiations to return in a cameo role. None of the Kick-Ass cast members had sequel deals in place, which fueled speculation that some of the roles may be re-cast. There are still several other new roles yet to be filled.

Jeff Wadlow is directing from his own screenplay, which is adapted from Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.‘s comic book series.

Matthew Vaughn directed the original Kick-Ass in 2010, but isn’t available to direct the sequel, since he is making the X-Men: First Class Sequel in January. If all the deals are finalized, production will most likely begin in August.

Shock Corridor- 5/5

What a brilliant film. Set up as a simple who done it, this masterpiece by Sam Fuller goes far deeper than such a set-up would warrant. Happily the audience reaps the benefit of this.

Wonderful performances and a haunting story.

Wrath of the Titans - I was sure, before the movie came out, that there was a big hullabaloo about Gemma Arterton not being able to return due to scheduling conflicts and that Rosamund Pike had replaced her. And all thru Wrath I was puzzled at (1) why was Rosamund a Queen and (2) how come she was speaking as a Human and not one of the Immortals. Turned out the Gemma Arterton character, Io, wasn't even IN this new movie, and that Rosamund was replacing the "gal who was offered up to be Kraken nibbles".
As for the film ... meh. Preferred the first one.
