As much as it pains me to agree with a Canucks fan (Oriental), that game was terrible. I'm talking 2003 Devils-Ducks finals terrible. Jersey dominated the first 40 minutes I suppose, as much as a team can dominate a game with very few legitimate scoring chances.
Who would've thought that Phoenix would be involved in the more exciting Conference Final?!
Dominated to the tune of a 0-0 score..I guess I am lost in this sport but will continue watching
Rangers blocked nearly twice as many shots as Devils did. So just because Henrik Lundqvist played fantastic and Rangers played great defense, blocking shots, etc, doesn't mean that 0-0 indicates even chances or even effort on both sides.
I never said "absolute domination" or something like that. It was more subtle than, say, a 4-0 lead into third. It was 0-0 going into third but I still maintain that for the majority of the first and almost all the second period, Devils played better, had more possession (can't find the stats to back me up), and had better chances to score.
LA looks incredible right now. So much size, speed, and skill. Brown and Kopitar are just killing it. And how did Philly ever let Mike Richards get away?
Just hope Phoenix goes down quick and quietly, with no more of this running around we saw a bit of tonight. LA can't have anybody going down injured on a cheap boarding or kneeing play. They're too close to winning a Cup.
Much better game by New Jersey, and also luck too, cause a couple of deflections did manage to squeak through this time. Ilya Kovalchuk's goal was breathtakingly beautiful. Spectacular save by Marty too, with his pads. And yet he allowed a soft goal, off the back walls.
So the defensive wall of China...errr, I mean New York Rangers, is not so impenetrable after all. New York had a good game but they can do better than this. I expect a more offensive Rangers next game.
Some questionable calls against both teams. What else is new?
One last thing: Can't stand Tortorella's post-game conference. He's like a little kid, refusing to talk. Grow up man!

Who knows if the Devils 2nd goal would have gone in had Gaborik laid down his body to block the shot rather than just stand up straight. Torts did the right thing in benching Gabo for the 1st half of the 3rd period.
Kreider has come close to scoring a couple more goals in this series. He's hit the iron a few times. He could be the proverbial 'x' factor in this series. Especially if Gabo isn't scoring.
Both teams have had let downs and lapses and both goalies have made spectacular saves. Gonna be a good series the rest of the way
