April Awesomeness was amazing, but it's time once again for the
Hot 100 list to get a spring cleaning and make way for some massive "May"hem!

I discovered the little quirk in my ranking system that was causing the massive amounts of attrition month-to-month on my list. It turns out I wasn't resetting my "preliminary" rankings to the actual old ranks of the last list. I'll have to do some more thinking and decide exactly if, when, and how often I'll need to reset the "preliminary" rankings in order to get the best list possible. I may reset it once every other month, or I may end up resetting it every month. We'll see.
As per usual, there's lots of change on the
Hot 100 list, and four names joined it this month, three new plus one returning hottie. What was funny about this month is that the rankings were essentially static on my first run-through, and then I kept tweaking it and tweaking it, and I ended up with much more change than I anticipated!

Also, I'd like to make an editor's note: last month I said that
Jennifer Lawrence made the record splash from list to list at a 48-spot change, but it turns out that that particular honor goes to one
Kat Dennings, who joined my list at #17 in October of last year, a jump of 83 spots from being (regretfully) forgotten in my first-ever list back in August.
Despite all the myriad changes in this list, the jumps and dives didn't seem to be as big as before. I think this is a side effect of my ranking reset, but the women who joined the list this month landed much higher than most who enter.
This month, therefore, should be dedicated to the newest member of my
Top Ten, who was referenced previously in this post as having the actual record jump from month-to-month. Congratulations again to
Kat Dennings for supplanting
Amanda Seyfried (who only dropped to #11) in a boob-on-boob battle that I think almost any red-blooded male would pay good money to see!

Kat moves up because her show,
Two Broke Girls, is doing spectacularly (#3 in the demo across the network's family of scripted shows) and as a shameless plug, the one-hour season finale will air next Monday!

Of course, I want to know what you all think. Please comment on who's in, who's out, and just how smart (or stupid) that I really am.
Editor's Note: For the sake of simplicity, all unranked hotties were given a blanket rank of "101" simply because ranking them is by definition, not the point of the previous polls in which they were unranked. It allows for the calculation of a numerical rank change by which the hotties were calculated in the list.
Preliminary hottie rankings that resulted in ties before final calculation (not shown in this poll) gave the tiebreaking position to the hottie who had the highest rank in the previous poll.
