Harrier: Pro: - Full Auto - Damage is slightly above the Mattock - Accuracy is Very High - Very Powerful against any type of Enemy. Cons: - Chews through Ammo Quickly. - Aiming Feels Loose for Some reason. - The weighs is +20 more than a Mattock, It should only add about .2 Seconds to your Cooldown - Has a Slight Recoil, Much Higher than Mattock(Need to Shoot in Burst). - Not a Great Choice for Squad (They only Shoot Six Shots and Stop). The Revenant is the Better Choice Specially for Ashley.
Mattock: Pros: - Weight is Tiny (Cooldown is above +200%) - Have little to No Recoil - Has a Great amount of Ammo(Should never Run out) - Aiming is Tighter on the Mattock - Delivers a very Powerful Punch with each Shot. Con: - Slightly Weaker Damage Output Compared to Harrier. - No Full Auto (Can only Fire as as Fast you can press the R Trigger) - Not a Great Choice for Squad. The Revenant is the Better Choice Specially for Ashley.
Verdict: Harrier, It may take a bit to adjust to the Recoil Compared to Mattock Recoil. It's extremely Deadly Assault Rifle. Either Assault Rifle is extremely Lethal against any kind of Enemy.
Ammo Loadout: Mattock V: 122 Harrier V: 108 (Assault Rifle Magazine Upgrade Mod is Highly Suggested)

Speaking of death machines, the Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle is ridiculous. Maybe it's just because I'd gotten so used to Insanity, but doing my Infiltrator run on Normal right now and Garrus is practically melting fools with it.
Some other observations as I'm going through this run, trying to be mostly paragon but at the same time trying to get people killed for the sake of trying different things:
*Black Widow was majorly overpowered, I meant to hijack an Atlas on Eden Prime but destroyed it too quickly.
*as I said above, the Adas is awesome, haven't really noticed the other new weapons that much on squadmates, the Reegar is useless on Tali though (or maybe it's more fair to say she's useless with it, she tried shooting something at the other end of the room with it...)
*having to shoot Mordin was hard. I knew I was going to do it ahead of time, I've even seen the video on YouTube, but damn it was still tough to do. I don't think it will be quite as bad when it comes time to do Wrex though, he was getting a little uppity in the truck on Tuchanka...
*just getting to the Reaper base on Rannoch, so I will feel bad watching Tali throw herself off a cliff, but frankly I'm tired of trying to save the quarians from themselves. If they're so determined to die, so be it.
*you know what wasn't hard at all? (Ashley fans may wish to skip this one)... I shot Ashley, and it was GLORIOUS. Honestly, when I was first approaching that scene I was afraid it might suck to kill her. If anything, it sucked that I couldn't shoot her more, because frankly she was a major C-U-Next-Tuesday to Shepard. "I had to take a stand, you taught me that." Biotch please, my FemShep tried to teach you how not to suck, and you were a terrible student.
*speaking of Ashley and other people who suck, I can't believe I'm about to type this but I actually found Kaidan to be a more useful squadmate. Ashley does bring more raw firepower, but this isn't ME1 where I can give her Colossus Heavy Armor, turn on Immunity, and let her tank everything. She's much squishier in ME3. Conversely, Kaidan, who majorly sucked in ME1, is like a more durable version of Miranda in ME3 because he can deal with any kind of defense - shields, barriers, armor. He can also prime multiple targets for biotic explosions with Reave. But the most fun I had with him was at the end of the London mission: turn on Barrier, Reave something to get even more damage reduction, then make him tank all the Reapers while I jog unmolested to the missile truck. Only way it would've been better is if he could actually die at that point...
^ Adas is Crap against Armored Enemies like Brutes, Banshees, etc..
The Carbine is Designed for Close Quarter Combat, Where Tali Likes to Stick to Mid Range. The Carbine will not Reach that Far. Wraith, Geth Plasma Shotgun & Graal Spike Thrower are better Choices anyways.
Not everyone wanted to Start a War with the Geth. In the End it's Mainly Admiral Han'Gerrel Since he controls the Heavy Fleet. Tali, Koris, Raan, even the Dying Engineer you find during Koris Mission didn't want to go to War.
Atlease Ashley had better Writing than Kaidan. Some crap that Came out of his mouth I wanted to Slap him and Than toss him head First at a Reaper. When you lose your entire ME1 Writing Staff (Except for Mac Walters). Your not going to get to same type of Writing heading into ME3.
The Person Who Wrote & Created Miranda in ME2 didn't Write for her in ME3. It just more Proof Mac Walters doesn't know what he is doing. The EC and the Upcoming DLC was all handled by another Writer. One of the Better ME Writers too.
Spec Ashley Correctly and She is One of your most Dangerous Squad Mates. My Guess is you didn't and gave her a Crappy Gun. She the Dam terminator.
Kaidan may be useful to the Class your Playing. He is not useful for all the Classes in the game.
Actually he can Die, Have Low EMS and Kaidan can be turned into Dust.

I meant I wish Kaidan could die at the part where you need to launch the missiles, maybe get skewered by a Banshee or eaten by a Brute, not just vaporized by Harbinger. And don't worry, I did shoot that douchebag in another playthrough. And it was also glorious.
I suppose playstyle does factor in to how effective you find your squadmates; yeah Ash with Revenant + Marksman can dish out a lot of damage, but since I end up killing things before she's even in optimal firing range it's a moot point. Now if I played as more of a support class and wasn't dishing out the damage myself then yeah Ash becomes much better, but since I prefer to be the primary damage dealer I don't have as much use for her. There is no arguing, however, that Kaidan does make for a better human shield.

lets be fair here kaidan and ash were messed up big time the whole idea of them being pissed because shepard saved the world again in 2 is a joke yea if they were pissed about arrival like the allience brass but no they kept on with the you joined cerberus idea its even worse if you dont romance one of them they just come over as whiny fools
I also hate how they make kaidan and not ashley a same sex romance just does not make sense and we know from ashley's va that they recordered the lines for a femshep ashley romance

They were pissed because He was working for Cerberus and acted like it was nothing. Don't forget what Cerberus did in ME1. Ashley was their for all of it. Your Boyfriend Died and than all suddenly came back to life and started working for terrorist Group, wouldn't you start to question everything he is doing.
Most ME1 Writers left by the time ME2 started. Just be thankful that BioWare did do what was planned for VS. For those who don't know VS would kill them selves half way through ME2.
Ashley being Bi was cut due to time. They didn't have time to add all the Planned Content for her into ME3, Which is why it was cut. Same reason why Ashley being bi in ME1 was cut.
Most Requested Items to be made into DLC Items by the Community.
1. Miranda Lawson DLC 2. Romance DLC Pack 3. Jack (Jennifer) DLC 4. DLC for Other ME2 Squad Memebers (Kasumi, Samara, etc..) 5. Armor DLC Pack 6. MP Powers for Shepard in Single Player 7. The Other MP Guns for Firefighter Pack 2
