That's just what true-believers do. They make it sound as if they are interested in what you have to say, but if you dare question their beliefs, they can't be civil. So they deride, or insult, or stick their fingers in their ears and shout down. I've observed it in person a hundred times at rallies, protests, debates, meetings, appearances and speeches, from both "sides", be it New Tea Partiers, or wishful eco-fascists.
They gather, they chant. Praises to their new Gods, and curses to their enemies.
You do what you do when you come across any proselytizers - street preachers, the Scientology Booth, Jehovah's Witnesses, Krishnas at the airport back in the day - passive or aggressive, you ignore them.

Bleh. When Bush was president, there was nothing but negative shit from the liberals in here. All the time. Guess what? I expected that. That's politics. I never let it get to me back then. It's always going to be like that. I guarantee you that if Romney beats Obama this fall, your liberal pals are going to go after him daily. That's politics. I think JT has issue with your tact, Tex. For example:
If I say "It doesn't matter who you vote for", well, you can agree or disagree...it leaves room for debate.

But if I was to say "You're a fucking sucker and your participation in the sham political processes is why we have these problems", well, I can understand how that might be taken as an attack.

Maybe so. The tact that you speak of usually goes back to ideology. I've seen on other boards on how when one guy says something someone on the opposite side dislikes and criticizes it but doesn't do the same when someone of their own side says something shitty. Get my drift? It's usually selective.

I run my own political forum and there was a guy who posted there (who has passed away sadly) and he had very thin skin. My moderator at the time (a liberal European at that) had to get on him many times. Then my next mod (also a lib) had to do the same. It really come down to how well one can handle political debates. I've seen 20 times worse on other boards than what we have here.

No... not an elitist at all. Just a person devoted to the truth. Which means, of course, that I felt compelled to address the fairy tale you trotted out above.

You see, I live in the real world. So I thought you might benefit from some exposure to it.
