If the Bears were smart they'd have signed Forte to a long term deal a long time ago.
My thoughts are...
I like forte, but he's not as good as what he wants, plus he's got some miles on the tires and probably only has a couple good seasons left. And when he's worn down he looks to be as fast and as "explosive" as Anthony Thomas was..which is slug speed.
I was super happy when I heard Bush was visiting because like I said all last off season I want a true back up back to Forte. I thought and still think what is behind him is meh. Now we have a legit one-two.
It's a good biz move. Although Forte is team player and he has earned the right for a better contract who's to say he won't turn out like most other backs who get pay days? I doubt he would but his wear and tear worry me.
Signing Bush means if something happens with Forte.. oh well.. at least we still have another back who is starting caliber.
I can understand Forte's apathy for the signing and why he's butt hurt over it but.. whatever.. walk then(force their hand and demand trade? i dunno) . I couldn't really care less. Backs are a dime a dozen these days. Very few elite talents. Forte is not an elite talent.
anyways I love the signing. Now can we sign some damn Oline?
