did you read this revan from a guy who worked on the writing me1 and I think he worked on me2 he also was part of the team who wrote dragon age orgins he does not work there anymore got to say it shows him a drew are missed
I read one recent blog post where the writer basically said "the ending was awesome because it was just like a movie" and I think she was missing the point. It is a game. Not a movie. And more specifically, its a role-playing game. The players are *part* of the game. Part of the process of building and experiencing the game, much more so than with most other forms of entertainment. Entitlement is really a right, for the gamer, because they have participated, actively, in the game itself. Again, I can't speak to the actual ending myself, because I have not played it but in generally I'd say a Role-Playing Video Game Trilogy Ending should (try to) do the following:
1. Reward the player's choices throughout the series. The big stuff they did should be noted. They should *feel* like they had a unique impact on the world.
2. End on a positive note. This is really important for video games... life in general is full of ****ty stuff happening all the time. When I invest a hundred hours into a game I need to walk away feeling like a hero. When you waste a couple hours of a person's life with an artsy/depressing movie or short story or even a novel, it is more forgivable because the time spent is less. And presumably the consumer knew what they were going into when they started. Certain directors create certain styles of movie. Certain writers write specific types of fiction. On the other hand somebody playing an epic role-playing video-game trilogy is going to *expect* to be the hero and save the universe. That's why they are playing the game. When expectations don't match reality, disappointment is created. It might be an artistic/creative move to go with a different style of ending but I feel its the wrong choice, especially for a videogame *trilogy*. Make your middle game bleak if you want to, but end the series on a high note.
Pay attention here, Bioware. This man is everything that was right with the company. What he is saying is exactly how most of us players feel. DA:O was one of your most successful games, and the fact that its lead designer no longer works for you is a clear foreshadowing of why you will go downhill once people are done with ME3.
Not sure who your talking about I know of one person I pretty sure he didn't have any invlvment in ME 2. He left as soon as Origins was finished. He also called was vocal after he left Bioware. "The only thing that remains the same is the name everything else has changed and not for the best".
Other than Mac Walters their isn't a single person from ME1 Writing Team left at BioWare. When Drew wrapped up Star Wars MMO he ran for the hills. I don't think he wanted to work with EA anymore. What they did to some of Star Wars Character in the MMO is down right embarrassing. Bastlia & Revan were made into complete Jokes and they canonized them as well.
---------
I know it's sad but I hope theirs some Truth to "The Truth" DLC. If the info from the Ex-BioWare is correct than BioWare is loving the idea ($$$). He also said the reason why Ending was so bad was because it was rushed. Since allot of resources was poured into Kinect and getting it to work correct.
Not sure if anyone watched The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3. It showed different outcomes when you near the Citadel Beam on Earth(Based off your EMS).
If your EMS was low it showed your Squad getting Wiped out. If you had a very high EMS you and your Squad make it into the Citadel and hold off the Reapers.
The Catalyst didn't exist in this version and ending was more focused on Dark Energy.
Joker along with he Normandy was taking on the Reapers until it got shot down on EARTH. Based off your EMS the crew can survive.
Also based on your EMS and your choice Shepard would reunite with Anderson and his LI somewhere in London. It also showed how Shepard escaped the Citadel exploding.
The Cut Content was allot better than what we ended up with, The Conversation with a dying Anderson was allot more emotional talking about Shepard being a Father/Mother and what comes after all this.
btw is there someplace I can download the leaked script I would love to check it against the game
I had all that stored on my old PC, I don't have links anymore to the files.
I could answer almost all the questions about the leaked script. If you want to read the script for the ending, I'll save you the trouble. They were very vague in the script, However the Normandy Crap part was added very late in development(Sometime after July/August 2011).
Wish they kept Kelly Part in. She shed allot of light on The Illusive Man's Past and Kelly's Background. Some of it was very interesting.
I also wish they kept the one Romantic Scene between Miranda & Shepard. It was very well done and Sweet.
Think I'm going start my runthrough with Miranda as my LI. I want see how some ME2 Romances playout.

I dont get the miranda part in the game I have read all over bsn you have to warn her about kai to keep her alive and some say they did not do it but they did meet her 3 times
well on my femshep game with liara as my li the warning her part was automatic not sure if its diffrent if you romance her
I am getting near the ending now just recruiting tali still got alot to do but wanted to get her as early as I could
also did lotsb even happen in the me3 world I had the cabin scene and stayed loyal but there is a part in the commans where I tell her I want more after she says we are friends so the whole lotsb stuff does not seem to be there

LOTSB is a Canon if you played it or not.
Their seems to be a few Audio glitches(Confirmed by BioWare Writer). Early in the Game (Liara Romanced) is suppose to comment about what happened between the two during LOTSB, it never happens. Liara says it been years since the two have been together.
The Presidium segment not sure about, I think it just a way out of the relationship if you previously say you wanted to be with Liara.
The last Conversation between Liara & Shepard is very touching.
-----------
If they Met Miranda three times than they warned her. During the second conversation Shepard automatically tells her about Kai Leng. Miranda being unloyal also ties into the system. I know in the leaked script if Miranda is unloyal she never appears until very late in the game.
Anyone have any idea what determines how much of Bonus you get?
Top: 100 War Assets. Middle: 25 War Assets. Bottom: 25 War Assets
Iridium: 384,543 Palladium: 258,409 Platinum: 204,099 Element Zero: 100,686
Iridium: 329,060 Palladium: 247,496 Platinum: 202,002 Element Zero: 101,453
Iridium: 457,475 Palladium: 312,661 Platinum: 301,121 Element Zero: 106,727
Going test my New theory out. Scanned Every planet in ME2 and launched atlease two probes on every Planet. I wonder if this will give me the 100 War Assets. If it doesn't I'm out of Ideas.
