Everyone on the internet is a genius (contrary to what the literacy surveys show) and so I'm just trying to get an idea of what kind of people I'm arguing with.

Then I'm in the same group as these people...
Francis Collins (headed the international program to map the human genome in the 1990s), Arthur Compton (Nobel Prize winning physicist), Max Planck (Nobel Prize winning physicist), Georges Lemaitre (Catholic priest who corrected one aspect of Einstein's theory of relativity), Carl Friedrich Gauss (brilliant German mathematician), Augustin Louis Cauchy (brilliant French mathematician), Blaise Pascal (brilliant French mathematician), Gregor Mendel (monk who did work on genes and inheritance), Angelo Secchi (Jesuit priest and pioneer in the field of astronomical spectroscopy), Michael Faraday (brilliant research scientist) etc.

Indeed, and I could name any number of atheist scientists as well. For example, Stephen Hawking. Of course, you are neither brilliant, nor a scientist. You are nothing more than a proselyting fool on a forum.
Atheists deny the existence of a supreme creator and ultimate judicator because God himself sets the bar for personal moral conduct and individual accountablity for each of us...his laws are the same yesterday, today and for eternity...which will not change or bend to accomodate what is popular or enlightened for the times
They prefer to comply to the standards of moral conduct according to men who set the bar for moral conduct according to the times and era which is subject to changable standards of the day ...what is moral and immoral.
To put it short terms God cramps people's lifestyles.
In other words, still no proof that your god exists. Mankind has been making rules for conduct long before the Judeo-Christian religions ever existed.
There are none that are so blind as those who will not see.
Which pretty much describes your state of self-denial nbl.

I may not be brilliant but at least I have a half dozen A's in university math. That only really started to mean something to me when I read those college literacy survey results a few years back.

Well of course, that certainly qualifies you to pass judgement on evolutionary theory, astronomy and cosmology.
Keep reading your book of fairy stories, it's certainly all you're good for.

Thank you for conceding my point.
You are delusional...
