- If you Kept the Collector Base, You find a item called the Brain. It suggest you can control the husks. - If you destroyed the the Collector Base, you find an item called the Heart. Not sure what it does, It does suggest some kind of Power Source.
It seems each will have it's advantage in some degree.
Keeping the Collector base gives you 10 extra War Asset Points for some reason.
Keeping the Base - 110 Destroying the Base - 100
According to Mac Walters theirs no bad effect for Keeping or Destroying the Collector Base.
you would think blowing it up the good choice would be better and give you something better
Like I said we don't know what the object is used for. It could grant you access to some kind of Super Weapon. The Object is said to be a Power Source.
I doubt BioWare would screw over people who destroyed the base.
Edit
some people might have jumped the gun, It looks like we are back at square one. Not knowing what either objects are used for.
ID=129 Reaper Brain Type: Military SubType: Fleet StartingStrength=110 ConditionalDescription="ME2 Base Kept" ID=130 Reaper Heart Type: Military SubType: Fleet StartingStrength=100 ConditionalDescription="ME2 Base Destroyed"
Still no clue on what one does over the other. Some suggest some kind contrast between logic and emotion between the two devices.
I truly don't think BioWare would give people who kept the base a heavy advantage over those who destroyed it. The game usually gives you a second chance in some way.
Example: If Captain Kirrahe was killed in Mass Effect 1, their are other ways to gain the STG.
