If you're okay with the 200 MB limit, MediaFire is good.
Nope, not any more. Just checked my account this morning and they've nuked all 2000+ videos that I had in there. There was nothing illegal just clips that I'd recorded myself from TV. I had received 'copyright infringement' emails as someone took offence at me posting live Rihanna, Lady Gaga, The Saturdays etc TV performances but if they are classed 'illegal' then why are they shown on free to air tv?
I never even got an email from Mediafire where in the past they did let you know if something was getting removed. My account is still active too, there just isn't anything in it.
It probably would have pissed me off big time about 6 months ago but I'm pretty much done with video posting now so I'm not too bothered

At the end of every tv show (in the USA) there is a copyright notification in the credits basically saying that any 'rebroadcast or other use is illegal.'

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. It pisses me off and I don't even have any videos there. Can't imagine all the work that went into uploading those. How many hours....
I wonder if soon enough, all the pic/video forums like this one gonna collapse as a result of this. That would be even sadder.

Megaupload data safe for now
On Monday, January 30, Megaupload data was in danger of being erased as early as Feb. 2.
However, the future of these files is now slightly more optimistic—their safety has been secured for at least the next two weeks. Megaupload lawyer Ira Rothken told TorrentFreak that after talks with various parties involved, the file-sharing site has been allowed a little more time.
“The hosting companies have been gracious enough to provide additional time so we can work out some kind of arrangement with the government,” Rothken said.

Megaupload users: guilty until proven innocent
Rothken told the site that while authorities had already backed up some user files for evidence, Megaupload wants to ensure that data is backed up for every user. The extended deadline will give them more time to find a solution.
It’s a more uplifting prospect than Rothken’s earlier update, in which he implied there were mere days between now and permanent file deletion. Since the Federal shutdown both confiscated data and froze the company’s assets, Megaupload currently doesn’t have the money to pay for server maintenance.
Probably the most innocent victims caught in the crossfire of the take down are Megaupload’s non-infringing users who stored personal, and sometimes irreplaceable, files and computer backups on the service.
Many users aren’t waiting for the parties involved to determine a solution, though. Uniting under a worldwide coalition of Pirate Parties, led by the Pirate Party of Catalonia, users are planning to take legal action against the U.S. government for a shutdown that they call a “disproportionate violation of their rights.” Disenfranchised Megaupload users can join the campaign at http://megaupload.pirata.cat/
Here's a bit of an update on the Mediafire situation. After they emptied my account I hadn't uploaded anything for about 2 weeks then a few days ago I uploaded 10 videos which were mostly request fills and reupload requests. I checked my account yesterday and it was empty again. The videos that were deleted this time were 3 Jennifer Ellison videos (an exercise one & 2 of her ice skating on Dancing On Ice), then 2 videos each of Jorgie Porter & Heidi Range also on Dancing On Ice. The other were 3 live music performances (Jessie J on Christmas TOTP, Little Mix on National TV Awards & Christina Perri on Dancing On Ice).
I emailed them and asked what they were playing at and got this slightly bizarre reply:

It has been determined by Mediafire that you have repeatedly uploaded and distributed copyrighted and/or pornographic material, which is a clear violation of Mediafire’s Terms of Service. Due to this violation, Mediafire has exercised our right to terminate and delete the contents of your Mediafire account. For more information please refer to our Terms of Service, which can be read here:
Looks like they shit themselves when the other filehosts started to go down and are now operating a zero tolerence policy. Just a warning for any other Mediafire account holders who cap from tv and films
I wonder if they would be able to spot the copyrighted files if you named them something like "A1.mp4" instead of "JenniferEllison.mp4"?

Well that's completely retarded that you would have to ask them to find out something like that. I've had two videos deleted in the past, I guess I should keep an eye out in case my stuff gets silently deleted too.
