Ignoring the ovious sarcasm, you are quite welcome; but that's not opinion, that is history and fact.
I find it fascinating that those on the left bitch and moan constantly about the corrupt practices of corporations with the means to practice crony capitalism via the tax code, and when a solution is proffered that would eliminate that abuse, all they can do is attack it because it doesn't appear, at first blush, to endorse the Marxist aims of our current tax code.
No one, not a single person here, has been able to offer a single reason (based on reality) why the Fair Tax would not be overwhelmingly superior to our current tax code.
And yet they cling onto this corrupt, bloated, inefficient and massively costly income tax code, even as it slowly brings this nation to its demise.
Oooh. Are you saying that if we looked deeper, the Fair Tax WOULD embody Marxist aims
Yes! Ineed it does! In fact, I took special pains to point that fact out!
And one needn't look all that deep into the Fair Tax to find that Marxist mechanism, it is the prebate, which is a widely promoted feature of the Fair Tax plan!
Which makes leftist opposition all the more baffling.
I can understand why leftist politicians (and even many on the right) oppose it, it would mean a massive loss of power for them and for corporate America.
But why would rank-and-file Democrats, who allegedly want what's best for low-income Americans, oppose a tax system that not only would allow them escape any taxation while providing for a booming economy that raise their standard of living substantially?
Perhaps they are just overly susceptible to the propaganda put out by politicians and other opponents of the Fair Tax, like the MSM.
Boggie's a Marxist! I should have known it! Closet cases are always the angriest.
That would be your takeaway, being the comedian here.
Sadly, this is nothing more than yet another pathetic misdirector.
No one here on the left actually wishes to challenge the staus quo, no matter how much pious leftist posturing they engage in.
At least the originators of the Fair Tax were intelligent and objective enough to realize that no tax plan that did not pay homage to the redistributionist aims of Marx had even a snowballs chance in hell of gaining acceptance in America today. FAR too many people today are entirely dependent on the state for the wherewithal to survive. And even more are completely ignorant of basic economics. You can thank our government schools for both.
I'm not going to get tired of that for quite some time.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
The only committed Marxists here are those who oppose the Fair Tax.
I am not one of those.
And those that are opposed, yourself, Terker, lu61f3r and other leftists here, refuse to engage in a serious debate on the actual merits of the Fair Tax.
You pretend to be objective and above the fray, but your posts in this thread have finally exposed your true leftist leanings.
While others might be fooled, I am not. I'm no amateur to political debate. I've been there and done that.
You think you are clever, and you talk a good game. I quite enjoy going back and forth with you because you display a facile mind.
But when push comes to shove, you are just another mindless leftist. Evidence, proof, facts, history... none of these things can alter your leftist views.
It's sad really, particulary as this is probably the death of this thread.
It seems no leftist here has the guts to debate real issues; particularly when it moves beyond leftist talking points and enters the province of the real world. Hence all the dead threads where I have presented a compelling case for the Fair Tax.
Such a shame... but such is the world we live in now. Critical thinking is all but a lost skill these days. Again, we can thank our government schools for that.
