Matthew 19:17
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

What did we do to get salvation? Nothing? It is a free gift.
What can we do do to lose salvation? Nothing?

Salvation by works is like someone giving you a free gift then you trying to pay for it or work for them for it.

Of course good works should be a RESULT of salvation not to EARN it.

John 10:28-29

28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

God knows who is saved and who is not. And why did you leave out verse 27?

I know. It just goes to prove that anyone can cherrypick verses to prove what they want the Bible to say. There are often two or more sides to a particular issue.
