Y'all should have seen this coming after what happened with hotfile.
sendspace, mediafire, rapidshare, imageshack, imagevenue and the rest are just as susceptible. If SOPA is passed, any US-based site that houses copyrighted material can be shut down without notice. Including SP, assuming it's located here. Even if it isn't, they can just shut down the image hosters.

Dammit....they finally did it. I'm thankful I moved to Mediafire early on, but a few of my files were from Megaupload, and even then I do(did) a lot of my downloading FROM Megaupload. A sad day indeed, and my deepest condolences to those who had a crap load of files on there. We just all have to look on the bright side of things..........let's hope the government doesn't decide to take down any more sites.

Stupid action if they think they can stop piracy. Just check out "Amazon Women on the Moon - Video Pirates" on the Youtube to see the mentality of pirates and this Pyrrhic victory achieved by the FBI.
There'll be another innovator who can figure how to get videos and books and movies out there. Though I will admit this sucks in terms of (uploading) and downloading a back catalogue of vids.
I really doubt it was videos and pictures that inspired this. Probably it was filesharing of applications and games. Everything else was just collateral.
OMG! It sure doesn't look like they are going to release the site until all the legal work has gone through at least one judge...& then maybe never with all the owners running for the hills. I have to decide which of my posts to upload to Rapidshare or ?. But, might they do the same thing with them, too? Looks like we all may be up the creek in getting great interviews in HD! All the replays on station or network websites are reduced down and terrible in quality. Ok, I guess I may take a holiday for awhile and work on other things. I don't know when I will reup anything...just going to wait for a while before I even start up again. My best to ya'll. Anyone can DM me if they are desperate for an interview that I already posted but I can't guarantee anything at this point. At least some of them have been on Rapidshare. "Just another fly in the ointment..." so says John McClane!

in a way I'm kinda glad this happened... i think it will piss off people much more than the wiki blackout and such. Seems like Government has forgotten it's purpose and that's to serve the people.
