We did NOT give up three 1sts. We swapped one, and gave up to (and the 2nd). High price? But sometimes you gotta gamble, and if it turns out RG3 sucks (which seems unlikely), what's the result? We suck and don't make the playoffs? And that's different how?

It's basically the ultimate desperation move for a QB if I ever saw one. Unless you're one of the consensus top five NFL QBs [Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and the Mannings - though Peyton's elite status is sort of in doubt], you're not going to be worth the extra two firsts and a second, especially on a rebuilding team that needs a mass influx of talent, not just a simple QB fix.
Big news today as the Skins and Cowboys take a hit to their salary cap level as both teams overspent with front loaded contracts last season. The Skins were penalized $36 million which can be spread out over the course of this year and next and the Cowboys were penalized $10 million. The rest of the teams in the league, with the exception of the Raiders and Saints will get $1.6 million credit to their cap that they can use this year or next.
This is especially damaging for the Skins who mortgaged their draft future for the next 3 drafts in order to move up to possibly get Robert Griffin III, that is if the Colts don't decide to take him over Andrew Luck.

this is fantastic news for Rams fans.Figure the redskins to split it and lose $18 million in cap space for 2 years which is huge. That should result in the Redskins unable to sign their own free agents let alone others so I can easily see the Rams getting themselves top 10 picks from the Redskins for the next 2 years.
Side note is how great would it be if RG3 told the Redskins he has no plans to play for them and won't sign.
