NHL will be shrinking down to 4 divisions. Since there's 30 teams in the NHL, divisions will have setup of 8, 8, 7, 7.
Cut two teams to make it 28 and therefore have 4 divisions consisting of 7 teams each!

The realignment is aimed at evening out the travel schedules for all NHL teams with each team playing teams outside their conference twice per year, once at home and on the road.

They could add teams in Quebec and Hartford, make it even. Anyway, the Northeast teams are getting fucked with having to go to Florida, when they could have put the Rangers and Islanders in their conference. Fuck you, Gary Bettman.

Not in this economy.
The teams in the conferences with 7 teams have a 57% chance of making the playoffs. The teams in the conferences with 8 teams have a 50% chance of making the playoffs.
As of right now, there has been no discussion of wild cards, so there's already a disparity
Two games for Tootoo. WTF is Shanahan thinking!? Two games for goalie interference, when it's still debatable if he could have avoided him? Just because it's Miller he gets suspended, and Shanny sets a terrible precedent. Lindy Ruff and Ryan Miller prove that you can basically have new rules created just by whining. What a joke.
