A lot of the missions in this game would get you banned here for absurdity alone. Fun game though. Volition always makes fun games.

This week marks three months since Saints Row: The Third hit store shelves worldwide, and everyone here in the community have continued to upload/download characters, and share their screenshots and stories. Did you know that we've had over 10 million characters uploaded to the database since launch?
To mark such a momentous occasion, we're giving the entire community a gift and upping your upload character limit to 20, instead of 10. The extra slots have already been handed out, so feel free to upload 10 more of your favorite creations. We also have the ability to hand out more than that amount on a case-by-case basis, so we'll be scanning the character databases and looking for individuals that are going that extra mile and deserve even more slots.

How do I get that DLC homie btw?

Love this game so far, only gotten through about 46% of it, been playing the trilogy since January since I got Part 3 along with the Game Guide (which came with the Money Shot DLC (sucks the suit is only for girls) for Christmas and wanted to play the first 2 first. I think Saints 3 is just so fun and while GTA laid the ground works for games like this Saints 3 goes above and beyond what GTA did before. It's just fun and different types of game play.

At least this one was mission based rather than activities like the last one. Still not worth the money though

As part of today's year-end financials, THQ announced that the Saints Row franchise has shipped 11 million units globally. Speaking specifically to the latest installment, Saints Row: The Third, the company revealed it has shipped over 4.25 million units and that "the game has generated the highest digital revenue of any console title in the company's history."

That's not the conclusion of Saints Row for the year. Saints Row: The Third: Enter The Dominatrix is expected to launch this September. The game is a standalone product that does not require the third installment to play and started life as an April Fool's gag.

What would Saints Row be without the VTOL jets and giant purple dildos? I'm not sure myself, but recently crowned THQ president and Naughty Dog co-founder Jason Rubin wants to find out. In an interview with Polygon, Rubin aired his grievances over Saints Row 3's tone and crass humor and his intention to change that in future entries.

"Why couldn't that be a Red Dead Redemption or a Skyrim?" Rubin asked. "I look at that title and I say, ‘Who cares what it is and why it got to be what it is? From that team we can make something that isn't embarrassing."

For clarification, Rubin is not saying the quality of the game is embarrassing but that its mature comedic presentation, that limits the game's potential audience, is embarrassing. That Rubin would openly state his dislike of the game's humor and his intentions to change the game are a bit upsetting as a series fan. Before Saints Row found its voice and over-the-top sensibilities, it was just a next-gen Grand Theft Auto clone. In this instance, bringing Saints Row back to its roots would not be a good thing.

"[Mature humor] works for South Park, but I'm not sure it does elsewhere," Rubin said. "I don't think (Volition) chose to do what they did because they had all of the options available to them. It was the environment at the time ... I know I can change that."

As THQ's new president, Rubin seems pretty gung-ho about expanding its brands' audiences, instead of focusing on the niche audiences the company has appealed to in the past. The company had a troublesome year in 2011, so I can understand where Rubin is coming from, but he should also realize that stripping away the signature comedic values of Saints Row would not serve the company, developer, or fans well.

The planned standalone expansion for Saints Row: The Third, Enter the Dominatrix, has been merged with Saints Row 4.

Publisher THQ revealed to Eurogamer that Enter the Dominatrix has essentially been cancelled, with all of its content instead merged into the next entry in the hit franchise.

THQ president Jason Rubin revealed, "When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise.

"I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game.

"When it comes to Saints Row, it's clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that's why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013."

Rubin also apparently revealed that the profits for the rescheduled production won't appear until the financial year ending 2014, meaning a release is likely to take place after April 2013.

Enter the Dominatrix originally started life as an April Fool's joke, before the company decided to pursue the project. With its admittedly risqué content, it's not a surprise that the game will be merged with Saints Row 4. Before leaving the company in May, former THQ president Danny Bilson claimed the follow-up to Saints Row: The Third would be "wilder".

Saints Row 4 could be headed to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this August, rather than on the next-generation consoles expected to launch this fall. Publisher Deep Silver, who picked up the property following the dissolution of THQ, has yet to confirm any details. However, Chris Stockman, design director on the original Saints Row, tweeted to IGN that "the word around the campfire is SR4 is shipping on current gen consoles in late August." IGN inquired with Deep Silver, who stated it's "still working on [timing] with Volition," and that it hasn't "announced platforms yet." Previously, Saints Row: Enter the Dominatrix, an expansion to Saints Row: The Third, was rolled up into a full-fledged sequel. An August date for that particular game would put it a month ahead of its open-world rival, Grand Theft Auto V and its September release date. Speaking with GI.biz, Deep Silver's parent company, Koch Media, supported this notion. CEO Klemens Kundratitz said there's "no doubt" the next Saints Row will release in 2013.
