Jim Ross posted several pseudo-shoot remarks this morning on Twitter after being summoned to last night’s Raw SuperShow in Mexico City, Mexico. He says quitting WWE is not an option for him and that play-by-play announcing in WWE is dead.
“Found out about mexico city late Thursday. Not happy to miss OU game but EVP talent & Co could care less. Nice way 2 go out on wk’ly TV.”
“I’m under contract to wwe. Well paid by team I helped build. Quitting for me not an option. Those that suggest such I feel for.”
“Do I like Raw GM silliness? No. If inclined could I handle that role? Sure. Am I interested? Nope.”
“Leaving Mexico City. Mon’s Raw could well be my last but who really knows? John L & his higher ups know. Hope u tune into Raw Mon nite.”
“4 the record, play by play in WWE’s dead. Funkhauser, the GM, enforces ‘story telling’ on Raw. Holds don’t exist. WWE board needs counseling.”
“If Laurinaitis & his corporate cronies feel Cole is the ‘voice of Raw’ then they are more out of touch than I thought. Fans want wrestling.”
“Funkhauser/ Raw GM is available for speaking engagement for schools for the hearing impaired. Contact @CMPunk 4 more info. This is too easy.”
“When announcers speak of something. TOTALLY unrelated 2 what viewers are seeing on TV screen it’s disconnect. Does GM&cronies not get that?”
“The naive fan thinks some announcers can solve perceived WWE broadcast issues. News flash…THEY CAN’T. Announcers being ‘Funkhausered’.”
“Note to Laurinaitis & peer hungry cronies: over mgmt of all broadcasters akin to putting a bit in a horse’s mouth. It’s all about control.”
“Funkhauser, hello. Doing English speaking, in ring promos to Spanish speaking audience=no reaction. Duh. Oh, wait my bad, WWE’s ‘global.’
“My financial status isn’t anyones business. I know the drill for me in OKC. I’m a big boy & realistic. Raw is a tv show not my life.”
“I can assure anyone who cares or thinks they need to know the dirt. I have zero booking ahead for WWE weekly or PPVs. Believe what u choose.”

Best match of the night by a country fucking mile was Hogan vs Sting.
It was fucking mental. Hogan got a giant ovation. Killed the crowd for the next bout, but it was so brilliant. Everything that is right about pro wrestling. The match was a standard affair using all the tricks in the book, and the action was really enjoyable. Hogan taking bumps felt like a huge deal since he supposedly said he wasn't taking any. Loved Flair's grand entrance as well. Just a great spectacle all around.
The dog and pony show happened afterwards though. The way Hogan timed his save for Sting was just beautiful. When he tore his shirt as well, it was definitely the biggest reaction in TNA history. He's the master. The complete total shocking reveal of Bischoff's son was a nice random addition too. Loved all of this, wild and fun.
Really should have went on last, especially if they planned that resulty to the main event.
More thoughts to follow, but I quite liked the PPV overall.

The content of the match is what you would expect, nothing special. It's the finish and aftermath that made it just bad.
Honestly, the highlight of the PPV was the Knockouts match. Roode and Angle was underwhelming, with all the energy sucked out of the PPV by the abysmal Hogan and Sting match. AJ and Daniels was good until the pathetic finish. Bully Ray and Anderson was just there, RVD and Lynn was typical RVD and Lynn. If you've seen their previous matches, you've seen them do the same thing, but better.
It wasn't a good PPV, but I was at least entertained by the Knockouts match.

First off, I have to say the Hogan match was my favourite match of the year. I fucking loved this match. Hogan walked out in his white top, jeans and taped fists. Sting came out. They were about to lock up, but Hogan pointed at the ramp and Naitch came out. Hogan took THREE BUMPS~, Flair got involved on the outside doing a few Heenan spots, Hogan used a spike to Sting's head, which cut him up. Hogan was working like Adbullah The Butcher. It was fucking brilliant. He did so little, yet so much. Sting locked on the Rock's Sharpshooter and Hogan tapped. Immortal came down and they beat on Sting. Hogan was in the corner telling them to leave it, but they pounded on Sting. Sting said "help me, Hulkster, help me!" The crowd cheered, Hogan looked to his left, the crowd got louder, He pointed at Sting and the crowd yelled its approval even louder, then he torn his shirt off to by far the biggest reception in TNA history. The roof came off for it. Then they slapped everyone about. It was pure theatre. Hogan cant go anymore, but the people on this show and in WWE could learn a book full of things watching how he worked the crowd in this one. It was always going to happen as well, because you never lose your ability to connect with the audience.
As for the rest of the show. . . It was the best and worst of wrestling for me. It was the best because most of them worked really hard. Most of the roster put their graft in. It was the worst because, at the end there was big deflation with that finish. I think I've probably accepted now than wrestling in 2011 is well and truly out of ideas. Its one big cluster fuck after another. WWE and TNA have a similar mentality. Its just WWE is a bigger company who's mistakes aren't as big, because they have a loyal fanbase and aren't swimming up stream. So many times in both promotions, you see someone who they should at least have a go with and they fail to pull the trigger. TNA has improved the TV, and this finish was probably designed to get the ratings up on Thursday. I just feel that Jeff Hardy is now back, his court case is over, and now they probably think its his time to get his long babyface title run, which they couldn't do 18 months ago. Big shame for Roode. He needed a win tonight.
Saying that, who really gives a fuck? It isn't like when they fucked Randy Orton. Roode is never going to be a star in TNA. Nobody is ever a star in TNA. Doesn't matter if he won it last night or next year (and he'll probably win it either on TV or at the next PPV). I could be TNA champion, and it wouldn't make a different to business in the negative. It isn't 1987 or even 2005. If Roode has the belt, it'll be like when AJ Styles or Samoa Joe had the belt. The real stars are Hogan, Sting, Jeff's Jarrett & Hardy and a few ECW wrestlers like RVD and Bully Ray. Its always going to be like that. It always has been like that, even back when Dusty Rhodes and Nikita Koloff were heading babyface factions in Nashville. Its evident in that building who the fans came to see. Its the first time in years, they've went to a town that wasn't a shithole starved of wrestling in front of fans who will cheer anything, and the fans seen who the stars were and acted accordingly. I remember saying weeks ago, it's in danger of being like when they had Bound For Glory in a real building and fans booed everyone but the Main Event Mafia. Hogan was the most over man on the show by a marathon sprint, Sting was hugely popular, Jeff Hardy got a big reaction, Austin Aries was big in the city, RVD was hugely over. Nobody seemed to give a fuck about Roode, unfortunately. They shove Crimson down our throats and Crimson is so fucking terrible it makes you wonder why they are pushing him? I even felt bad for Samoa Joe. I never thought I'd ever see the day again when I thought "this poor fucker deserves better than this". Joe worked really hard. Why is anyones guess. Its sad watching him. With the crowd on his side, he got into a stride and he looked to be enjoying himself. Reminded me of why I got into him a few years back. Then he got beat by Crimson as the people booed loudly and chanted all kinds at him. Crimson is shit. And anyone who thinks Christopher Daniels is this "young 40 year old super worker" needs to check this match out. He was shit in it. What a pillock. Hammy Hamster does Pro Wrestling. He said he was going to "murder" AJ "in cold blood". Complete clown.
Kendrick vs. Aries was a good match. Austin Aries worked like a star, acted like a star, delivered the goods and got a star like reaction. The fact that it was actually structured and not just all spots really kept me interested. Not sure I liked Aries sell job of the top rope sliced bread but other than that it was as good an X Division match as I've seen in TNA in god know show long.
I thought RVD vs. Lynn was comically bad for the most part. Watching them do slow mo greatest hits version of their old spots early on was sad. Then they botched a simple spot. Then RVD almost died. There were some crazy bumps but as a match I thought it was poor.
I liked Anderson vs. Bully Ray fine. Bully Ray is entertaining in general to me. He worked really hard in the match and I thought they built fairly well to the big stuff at the end. Nothing special but respectable and better than most Anderson matches by a long shot.
Missed most of the woman's match, as they had made it obvious 2 months ago that Velvet was winning the title

Last night in Mexico City, Triple H announced that WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio's uncle, Mil Máscaras, will be inducted into the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame.
Yep, looking forward to this. Loving WWE at the moment and they've rarely done a disappointing PPV this year so this should be quality.
I can see Punker Hearst Helmsley vs. Miz / Truth going on last. Now that he's dealt with Ricky Morton, I assume this is the show Kevin Nash returns on to help Miz and Truth, setting up the 5 man elimination at SS.
Can't wait for Henry / Show II: Wig Splittin' Boogaloo. They'll be knocking the shite out of each other. Mark Henry's easily the best thing going today in WWE.
Look for the prediction thread to be bumped around Wednesday / Thursday.

I watched WWE Greatest Rivalries Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart 2011 today and no doubt it will be better then RAW tonight so if after 5 mins of RAW you think this is going nowhere then give this a watch instead.

I downloaded it a few nights back. Enjoyed it. Shawn Michaels agrees he was a dick on everything Bret says, which was a minor let down. Michaels rolled over a died for 90% of it. If Hart was this good as convincing Michaels to agree with him in the 90s, we wouldn’t have needed this DVD. Bret even awakens memories of his book by bringing out reference points such as “Earthquake and Savio Vega considered me the locker room leader”. WWE also took a swing at WCW again (of course). Bret’s line of “it could have been anything on the other channel, I think people just wanted an alternative” was a new one. As excuses for why WCW was battering WWF for a good two years go, that’s creative way to talk shite at least. And one that makes the least sense.
It was still a really good DVD, because its something you don’t see everyday. Its basically a WWE produced shoot interview, with things you don’t hear on a WWE DVD such as “kayfabe”, “road agent” and “Killer Bees”. Bret even says the word “pube”, which is a first. Bret really goes for it, which is toe curling sometimes. We've heard all Bret’s lines about Shawn in interviews and in his book but you keep think "ohhh, he’s sitting next to him" while you watch it from behind the sofa. You almost want him to chill out a bit. You almost have to admire him for not giving a fuck whether his new found pal is offended. And Shawn Michaels is so quiet, he might as well not be there for most of it. He only opens up near the end when he's being apologetic about the screwjob. For me, what I got out of it was that they were both very jealous of each other. Bret was jealous because Michaels younger and the quality of his matches were so good and he had so much support from the likes of Vince and Patterson he could have been going on for years as a headliner. Michaels (in his words, so at least he admitted it) was scared while Bret was out for 8 months post WM12 because he hated the thought of Bret being the one to save the company after a bad year with Michaels on top.
Its mental to see a WWE DVD where Jim Ross (who played a key role in Montreal) and Shawn Michaels (who did the double crossing) are basically saying all those years they defended Montreal was all shite and this is the real truth of the matter. And its on a WWE DVD, which is even stranger. You hear the following sentences: “WWF is a big mans territory”, “I never refused to job to him”, “Earthquake was a nice guy” and “Shawn Michaels was then suspended for a failed drug test”. We never hear shit like that on WWE DVD’s. Whether you like it or not, it’s a bit of an experience to say the least.
