Having Chicago be the only Original 6 team in the Western Conference would be disappointing. I know they have a good rivalry right now with Vancouver, but it's not one of the old school ones that last forever (Toronto-Montreal, Montreal-Boston, Detroit-Chicago, etc). It's more like Detroit-Colorado in the 90's and early 00's. Intense, but probably short term.

That said, one plus side. A possible Chicago-Detroit Stanley Cup final. THAT would be INSANE!

I'm against that idea.

If Detroit moves the rivalry with Chicago will be over and Chicago will have less competition in the divison. I like competiton period.

Rounded half-glass?

I was watching a pre-season game at the Shark Tank and a puck hit the half glass, bounced back onto the ice, and the play was whistled down for a faceoff.

When they ran a replay I noticed that the half-glass near the bench was rounded off 90 degrees. I thought this was a marvelous way to prevent injuries when players go crashing into what used to be a straight (but padded) edge, particularly when they go in head or neck first.

I was kinda wondering if other NHL rinks have done the same thing with the glass. I'll have to watch a few road games to find out.

Most of them, if not all of them, are like that now. I think it's in the "ground rules" now.
