Carver is a Complete d*** at times. They did that for a reason, you will see as the story unfolds.

I really don't consider that a spoiler since anyone who played the demo or read any previews knew your brother/sister would die.

Bethany is more likable from the start.

Sucks that there are no rogue weapons (except a bow)..

Ser Isaac's Armor is suppose to Rogue Armor.

I've hardly been able to play it today so far. Had school until 1, picked the game up after school. Got home, played it for 15 minutes, then got called into work. Now I can play it for about 90 minutes before I have to go back to work for a few minutes and then I can play until I pass out.

Any first impressions on the game?

I've played 4 hours with a dual wielding rogue and I'm a bit disapointed so far, compared to Origins.

Pros :

- Graphics are much better (environnement and combats)
- Much easier to sell all the junk you don't need
- The main character talks!
- Talent trees are well done IMO


Cons :

- Right now, it seems like I'm more button bashing then doing any sort of tactics in combat
- Not much interaction between you and your companions.. makes you care less for them. I enjoyed laughing about Alistair's and Oghren's remarks.. made you want to carry them in battle. After 4 hours, I pretty much have all the companions available already and none of them have THAT like factor.
- I was mentionning graphics in the pros, true, but it seems like everything involved around the inventory as took 2 steps backwards...
- Can't inspect items before looting them..
- Companions remain with the same look as we cannot equip them with a different armor piece

Overall, everything was made easier.. which ain't necessary a good thing.

We'll see as the game progress.

I absolutely adore the game so far. However, I will give you what I like and what I don't like.

Pros:

• Combat is much improved, no stutters like in the Origins
• Graphics are gorgeous. Character models look much improved over Origins, but that was to be expected given the advancements since Origins
• Dialogue wheel. This was taken directly from Mass Effect, which I much prefer over how the dialogue was presented in Origins
• It's nice to be able to hear our character speak for a change
• Most of what I loved about Origins is still here
• Bethany and Isabela are fucking babes!
• FASTER LOADS!!!!!!!!!! My god this drove me nuts in Origins

Cons:

• I don't like how the level system as much as Origins with the trees and such, although I do prefer how it is categorized
• Menu system isn't as convenient as Origins. Meaning I can't just keep pressing L2 or R2 to get to everything. Quests are in the "journal" section, which is separate. Not a huge flaw, but I preferred it the way it wasy
• Since Bethany is my sister, I can't romance her (at least there is Isabela)

I can't really say it's more of a button masher just yet, as it is still so early in the game for me and there are many things to unlock in terms of abilities. I know when I went through the Prologue as a Mage I found the same fulfilment as I did with Origins. I'm playing as a Warrior right now, imported from Origins after I did Awakening and all the other DLC.

Since it is more action oriented, I now have the ability to dodge attacks much easier which leads me to believe that BioWare wanted to give us more of an action feel in combat and more control over getting hit or not.

I also agree with Esprit about the companions thus far. The humorous banter isn't nearly as present as it was in Origins, but that can still change. Still hours and hours of game for me to enjoy. So far, this game is looking to surpass Origins as the things that I don't like as much about it do not outweight what I love about.

I have to say I like the improvement in the combat system with constant attack button pressing for attacks

I had a habit of pressing the attack button during attacks on Origins (even if it was auto) seeing the attacks swipe were so slow on Origins
