I absolutely adore the game so far. However, I will give you what I like and what I don't like.
Pros:
Combat is much improved, no stutters like in the Origins
Graphics are gorgeous. Character models look much improved over Origins, but that was to be expected given the advancements since Origins
Dialogue wheel. This was taken directly from Mass Effect, which I much prefer over how the dialogue was presented in Origins
It's nice to be able to hear our character speak for a change
Most of what I loved about Origins is still here
Bethany and Isabela are fucking babes!
FASTER LOADS!!!!!!!!!! My god this drove me nuts in Origins
Cons:
I don't like how the level system as much as Origins with the trees and such, although I do prefer how it is categorized
Menu system isn't as convenient as Origins. Meaning I can't just keep pressing L2 or R2 to get to everything. Quests are in the "journal" section, which is separate. Not a huge flaw, but I preferred it the way it wasy
Since Bethany is my sister, I can't romance her (at least there is Isabela)
I can't really say it's more of a button masher just yet, as it is still so early in the game for me and there are many things to unlock in terms of abilities. I know when I went through the Prologue as a Mage I found the same fulfilment as I did with Origins. I'm playing as a Warrior right now, imported from Origins after I did Awakening and all the other DLC.
Since it is more action oriented, I now have the ability to dodge attacks much easier which leads me to believe that BioWare wanted to give us more of an action feel in combat and more control over getting hit or not.
I also agree with Esprit about the companions thus far. The humorous banter isn't nearly as present as it was in Origins, but that can still change. Still hours and hours of game for me to enjoy. So far, this game is looking to surpass Origins as the things that I don't like as much about it do not outweight what I love about.

If my friend was telling the truth. Just wait until you do Varric Personal Quest. You get a good laugh out of it.
You have five Romance Options, four are Bi. Dunno if anyone Notices, Varric overly Sexualized Bethany during his BS story with Casandra. Once the True Story starts she is put back to normal Size.
Hopefully the Origins Style gameplay will be patched within the month.

Allot of players hate change. The Same thing happened when Mass Effect 2 was released. They moaned & B**** about removing x & changing x, not liking z because of y.
Most reviews range from 8.5 to 9.5 for Dragon Age 2. Even at 8, it's a very impressive score. Personally I wish all review sites would drop score system, Just explained what they liked & disliked about the game. Most people judge a game based off of scores. People forget it's the opinion of a reviewer, not some written fact.

Who gives a fuck what they say? This game is awesome and that is all I care about. I will never let the opinions of moron reviewers/users sway my love for a game.
9 hours in and the game just gets better and better. Isabela is by FAR my favourite character, as I knew she would be.

As much as I want to, I cannot seem to want to play this game more then a few minutes.
What class do you guys play?
Mage seems the coolest, and I'm trying it now, sucks that I cannot have Bethany though.
Do I have to keep Carver or I can go along with 3 other companions by the way?

If you want Carver to become a Grey Warden take him with you when you go to the Deep Roads.
If you leave him at Home he will be recruited into the Templar.
If you Rival Trophy or Achievement, Carver is the easiest to get it with. I use Varric, Isabela & Bethany for my party. Since Mages can't use Bethany. I would create your self as a healer or use Anders.
Having Isabela & Bethany in the party just for some of the banter you hear. Isabela keeps trying to get Bethany Laid. She even offers to pay someone to have sex with Bethany.
However, I will give you what I like and what I don't like. 
(at least there is Isabela)
