This past year has been a busy one for Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax Media.

After purchasing id Software, Arkane Studios, and Shinji Mikami's Tango Gameworks so far this year, ZeniMax is now gobbling up MachineGames, a new studio formed by the founding members of Starbreeze Studios, the creators of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay and The Darkness.

Team is developing an unannounced project that will utilize the id Tech 5 game engine, the same engine currently being used in id Software's Rage title.

"MachineGames has assembled a dedicated team that has extensive experience working together to produce quality games. We are excited to create a new AAA title for gamers on id Tech 5 that will push the game development envelope," Gustafsson continued.
