Claudia Black first played Vala in the Stargate SG-1 Season 8 Episode "Prometheus Unbound". She returned to the role for the first six episodes of Season 9, while Amanda Tapping was on maternity leave. She's scheduled to return to the role at the end of Season 9, and becomes a regular on the series in Season 10.

haha I heard she signed for season 10 and isi n the last couple of episodes coming up at the end of season 9, good stuff, I was amused by her character.
Her face can look a bit harsh at times, but I like the body, I'd say I'm a fan.
