Buddhism because some aspects of it have been successfully embedded in various psychotherapies (I'm in psychology)
Very good choice *he somewhat smugly stated*. Although a technically unrelated faith (though it inspires aspects of Chan/Zen Buddhism), Taoism inspires psychology greatly; oarticularly the theories of Jung, who was an expert on the 'Yě Jīng'.

if I had to give up my deeply held views....... then I think I would go for the Roman idea of what the yearly Christians did....... they thought Christians where all about sexual orgies and cannibalism....... while I could do with out the eating flesh and drinking blood, the daily sex orgies sounds just fine

I like Hindu.
The fact that everybody is a Hindu (they just don't know it yet) and that everybody is already on their way to Nirvana appeals to me. The only thing I don't like is how poor people are looked down upon in Hindu culture.

So do some Christian groups. In fact, from the Catholic foundation and through to the Reformation, Christianity was imbued with a sense of a divine order, that richer and fortunate people were somehow more worthy than poorer and the not so fortunate.

Which is in opposition to what the Scriptures teach. But those "Christian" ideals don't come from it.

But it was never as extreme as it still is in Hini culture.
Not to mention, those days are over for the Catholic church.
