Here is a list of games/franchises that I utterly despise. This will reveal me as an old-school, bitter curmudgeon. These games are too easy by my standards and disguise gameplay with fancy graphics. You will be mad after you read my list. I love that you hate me. 1. Grand Theft Auto 3+ 2. Any Wii game played with the remote 3. Devil May Cry series 4. Final Fantasy X + 5. Any "Flight Sim" game on console

I can't help but love Tomb Raider. I reckon is a very physical attraction, but the last one was very entertaining!
I hate games in which you are the undisputed bad guy. That includes the GTA games, of course.
And I despise the console fanboys who can't let one day pass by without preaching the impending doom of PC gaming.

on hating anything that is Wii Yeah. God forbid a console dare to change anything other than putting prettier graphics on exactly the same games with exactly the same control schemes that we've had for at least the last two generations. Anti-Wii folk amuse me, because they tell themselves that they're on the cutting edge, but they're afraid to actually try anything that's vaguely outside the comfort zone of two analogue sticks, a directional pad, some face buttons, and a few triggers.

I dislike the Wii not just because of the lack of prettier graphics, or being on the cutting edge, the Wii is a kiddie console where there games reach out to younger ppl and still kicking out Mario games that died back in the early 90's. Whereas the PS3 and Xbox360 actually appeal to real gamers with games ppl 25 and up wanna play come on grow up Nintendo, and the Wii remote, come on the controller is meant to be played with thumbs, not swinging a numb-chuck controller like some retard and end up making the remote fly into the tv screen..the light gun concept games Wii has, come the f*ck on, that sh*t died in the arcades and since Duck Hunt first came out say what you want or hate my response, but IMO the PS3 and Xbox360 are on the right level, yet the Wii is so overrated with there kiddie game nonsense that appeals to 10 yr olds

Anti-Wii folk amuse me, because they tell themselves that they're on the cutting edge, but they're afraid to actually try anything that's vaguely outside the comfort zone of two analogue sticks, a directional pad, some face buttons, and a few triggers. The Wii is brilliant. A low-spec console that originally seemed to suggest that Nintendo was acquiescing to third place in the face of Sony and Microsoft, has turned into something of an icon, and has brought back a degree of ingenuity and originality to video games not seen for some time. I think console gaming needed this. Powerful as the 360 and PS3 are, they are still engaged in this tired old graphical arms-race which has been going on since the Sega Saturn and the original PSX. What seems especially pointless about it is that many of the games, particularly those from the FPS genre, are little more than stripped-down PC imports, and bar a certain ease of use it mystifies me why anybody would choose to play them on a console, given the choice. However, it must be said that the Wii has been over-hyped to a degree. While it has opened up gaming to a broader demographic, this has led to some limitations in gameplay which feel like a step backwards. Take Wii Sports as an example. As someone who has played computer games since the early 90s, I can't play that game for more than 10 minutes. Very few options, very little physics modeling, inescapably poor graphics. It is essentially somewhat gimmicky, and although it isn't representative of all Wii games I think a number of them risk that pitfall of placing cybernetic novelty over gameplay. Probably the greatest testament to the Wii's success is that both Sony and Microsoft are releasing new wireless motion-sensor controllers. I dislike the Wii not just because of the lack of prettier graphics, or being on the cutting edge, the Wii is a kiddie console where there games reach out to younger ppl and still kicking out Mario games that died back in the early 90's. Whereas the PS3 and Xbox360 actually appeal to real gamers with games ppl 25 and up wanna play
For the record, most 'serious gamers' I know play PC games. Particularly when it comes to shooters. All things being equal (read: no auto-aim) a gamer using an analogue stick *cannot* beat a gamer using a mouse. It just isn't possible. When I was 15/16 I was hooked on the original tactical shooter games of the Rainbow 6 type. Pure one-shot one-kill gameplay., no energy bars and bullshit. Whenever they port a tactical shooter to console, they always simplify it and make it easier, because you don't have the intuitive precision of a mouse, or the rapid multiple key-strokes of a keyboard. Consoles and their attendant controllers are actually more suited to arcade-y games. I can't help but love Tomb Raider. I reckon is a very physical attraction, but the last one was very entertaining!
I haven't played a Tomb Raider game since I spent 10 dumbfounded minutes trying to contemplate how bad Angel of Darkness was. Talk about messing up the controls. Lara moved like a paraplegic. The first two games were classics. It became fashionable to allege that they were only sold on the back of a Lara's polygonal assets, but in actual fact they were highly playable action games, very well paced with a satisfying degree of difficulty. I love GTA 3. It changed my gaming life. Games i hate that are very popular are The Sims, Lara Croft and Grand Turismo. Definitely agree with you on GTA 3 and The Sims. Especially if you mean the original GTA 3. IMHO Vice City was the most complete finished product, but GTA 3 was nothing short of revolutionary. It was the game that really announced the next generation in computer games, just like a game like WipEout did for the PSX. The Sims is dreadful. I remember exactly what went through my mind when I first played it: "Oh, this house designing part is nice." "Now I've run out of money. I'll need to earn more money to buy more house parts. I'll have to get a job, and keep doing it, over and over, over and over and over, day in day out, until I accumulate enough money to buy more house parts and this is actually just the same as life!!!

...the Wii is a kiddie console where there games reach out to younger ppl and still kicking out Mario games that died back in the early 90's. First off, if you can't find any games on the Wii that don't appeal to you, then you aren't actually looking. Using the same logic, I could just as easily say that the 360 has ONLY first-person shooters. I could very easily make an argument that the 360 is the TRUE "casual" console of this generation. Secondly, you're really gonna try to use Super Mario Galaxy as an argument AGAINST the Wii? It's one of the most highly regarded games ever and won Game of the Year of 2007 from several different organizations. Thirdly, who cares if a game is "kiddie" or not? Actual adults wouldn't give a damn what someone else thought of a game they enjoyed. Whereas the PS3 and Xbox360 actually appeal to real gamers with games ppl 25 and up wanna play Again, if you can't find ANY games on the Wii that appeal to you, then it's obviously because you don't actually want to. come on grow up Nintendo, and the Wii remote, come on the controller is meant to be played with thumbs, not swinging a numb-chuck controller like some retard and end up making the remote fly into the tv screen..the light gun concept games Wii has, come the f*ck on, that sh*t died in the arcades and since Duck Hunt first came out I'm sorry the Wiimote scares you so much. You should know, both Sony and Microsoft are introducing control systems that utilize motion controls. Microsoft is bringing out Natal, and Sony, in addition to the already-existing Sixaxis, are introducing a separate motion controller.

Thirdly, who cares if a game is "kiddie" or not? Actual adults wouldn't give a damn what someone else thought of a game they enjoyed. Gotta agree with you there Kthulhu. Why do games that have graphics that may appeal to children have a stigma among so many "adult" gamers? All the Mario games are easy to pick up and clear with the minimum requirements, but if you go the extra length and get all the pickups, the games are extremely challenging. Besides, what impact does a style of art have on gameplay? I think immaturity is marked by not being able to see past a game's graphics. Especially a proven and stellar title like Mario Galaxy. I did start this post and I did mention I hated Wii remote games. I don't find the remote enjoyable to use, but I love the Wii. I play Mario Kart and others with a Gamecube controller. Plus, the remote has allowed Nintendo to continue its existence as a hardware developer in the future because of its demographics breakthrough. Yay Nintendo! Discrimination against any console is foolish. If a game is a good game, who cares what platform you play it on?

The only one I'll disagree with is Final Fantasy X +. I'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series and I really have enjoyed everything about it. What I like about X is the ability to play Blitzball. I also like the song at the start of the game right before the Blitzball tournament (you don't do anything, it's story driven). I also really enjoy the gameplay, as a whole. I haven't played much of X-2 or XII, but I own both. I've just been focusing a lot of my time on my 360, but I'll go back to Final Fantasy games when XIII comes out.

Give Lara another chance with Underground. The controls are much better, and the graphics are very nice. Even the reviews were positive. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/tombraiderunderworld?q=underworldBesides, it shouldn't be too expensive nowadays. http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=68944And no, Eidos isn't paying me for this. I just have a soft spot for perfectly endowed women with British accents.
