My 60GB fat PS3 unfortunately, out of the blue, died (ylod). Thankfully though, I already had its original hard disk backed up, but it's an end of an era. Served me, with great rapport, since 07. A friend of mine, who happens to fix for a shop, fat PS3s by using an SMD rework station and re-boiling, will try and fix it for me for 50, but since it's only a temporary fix, I'll have to buy a slim one. So, I'll have to to deactivate my fat PS3, right?

Only if you don't plan on using the bulky one online again. I have a 60gb bulky launch model (2007) and a slim 320gb bought in December 2010 (because I thought that the 60gb was due to YLOD at any time). I didn't deactivate the 60gb but I never had it connected to the interent again since I bought the slim. I only used the 60gb bulky to record things from TV using Play TV and it finally died in January 2012. It wasn't YLOD though. Think the fan just stopped working as it still powers up and lets you do stuff for about 30 seconds before it freezes and shuts down. I'll probably get it fixed or fix it myself eventually
Basicaly if you don't plan on using the bulky online again then deactivate it
I've got a launch PSP and last looked at it about a year ago when I tried to upgrade the firmware. At that time it no longer would recognise my wireless router (other routers in the street were showing up as being ok though but were password protected). I had a look at it again recently and had a look on google and found that one of the last updates that installed had changed what type of router security that you could with the PSP. I got it connected , updated the firmware and got bitten by the Playstation handheld bug again. Obviously the PSP is now a thing of the past so I was thinking of getting a Vita. Seen them online with a game for around £170, so is it worth getting one or is not really that much of a step up (gameswise) from the PSP at the minute?

Been thinking of the same thing lately. It looks as it is a step ahead in graphics, applications etc , but from the games out now only Uncharted appeals much to me. Later this year Assassin's Creed Liberation will come out (another game of great appeal to me), but still nothing new, fresh that will make go wow and go buy a Vita immediately. Personally I'll wait till Christmas or maybe even next year and see how Vita is gonna develop.

I wasted my money on Madden 13. Had I known there was no true franchise mode, I would not have wasted $60 on this what is basically an online only game.
Only silver lining, I have a game I can trade in towards a game like Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3 or AC 3
