The NFL officially comes back tonight with the Titans @ the Steelers on NBC. It feels like yesterday when we were talking about last season & of course this past years NFL draft. Anyways, I look forward to a great season (hopefully a decent one from my Lions) and of course some parody as usual. Feel free to post any NFL news related articles. Let the games begin.

I see the loss of Richard Seymore hurting the Pats D which is already a less than stellar group. Offense can't win all the time. The AFC East will be close but I give the edge to the Dolphins who have a better D and a more solid running game.
Those Patriots sure dodged a bullet earlier tonight.

Philadelphia Eagles sign Jeff Garcia as insurance for hurt Donovan McNabb.
Quote:
Garcia signs with Eagles; McNabb rests
ESPN.com news services
PHILADELPHIA -- Donovan McNabb is not ruling himself out for the Eagles' game against New Orleans next Sunday despite suffering a cracked rib on Sunday. Philadelphia got some insurance on Monday, just in case.
Eagles coach Andy Reid on Monday confirmed the team has signed Jeff Garcia, a 10-year veteran who played for Philadelphia in 2006 and went 5-1 in six starts while McNabb was injured.
"Whether it's a week or two weeks or the entire season, I'm excited about the opportunity," Garcia said in a conference call. "As far as a team I can go to and blend right in, this is the team for me to do that."
McNabb, who once played four quarters on a broken ankle, doesn't feel like the rib will keep him out.
"He's pretty sore," Reid said Monday. "He's going to try and battle through it. He'll struggle to practice. He's going to do everything he possibly can to try to play. We'll see how that goes. He's staying optimistic about that."
McNabb is keeping an open mind and doesn't plan to sit out.
"Not necessarily, anything can happen. It's just Monday right now, but if Friday and Saturday come along and I'm feeling a lot better, you just never know," he said. "It's a slow process of just meeting with our trainers, doing two-a-days with treatment, going through the process of just like I'm playing in the game, and seeing how I feel at the end [of the week]."
Third-year pro Kevin Kolb filled in for McNabb during Philadelphia's 38-10 victory over Carolina in the season opener. He would start against the Saints if McNabb can't play.
Reid said Garcia is a good addition for his team.
"We're lucky Jeff was available," Reid said. "He's someone who knows this offense and has been very successful in this offense. He can be a positive influence on Kevin Kolb."
Michael Vick is not eligible because he was suspended for the first two regular-season games as the last part of the NFL's penalty for his role in a dogfighting ring. Vick probably wouldn't start even if he could play because he's still rusty and Reid has maintained all along that Kolb is the backup.
Kolb hasn't moved the offense much in the few opportunities he's had, though he's never worked with the starters during a practice week. The Eagles could find themselves in a shootout against Drew Brees and the rest of New Orleans' high-octane offense, so they can't afford a slow start.
"I have full confidence in him," Reid said of Kolb. "I don't worry about his accuracy or knowledge of the offense right now. It's just a matter of getting caught up with the game speed of the regular season."
McNabb got hurt when he took a hard shot on a 3-yard TD run in the third quarter. He spun away from a defender at the goal line, but was nailed by Panthers nose tackle Damione Lewis on the ground in the end zone.
"I can't say anything on that," Reid said. "You get those 300-plus-pound guys motoring and it's hard to stop. Sometimes they come in a little bit late."
The NFL reviewed the play and ruled the hit was "not illegal," spokesman Greg Aiello said in an e-mail.
"It's a rough game. We're not clamoring about Josh McCown. I mean he got whacked pretty good, too," Panthers coach John Fox said after reviewing the tape. "It's tough. I'm sorry he got hurt. I don't ever like to see any player get hurt, our team or theirs. It's unfortunate."
McNabb played an injury-free season last year for the first time since leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl in 2004. He's missed 24 games, including playoffs, due to injuries during his first 10 seasons in the NFL. The Eagles are 14-10 in those contests.
Reid said McNabb doesn't have to practice to play this week.
"We've seen him do that before and play some pretty good games," Reid said. "We'll take it day by day. We just want to get him back healthy."
Reid isn't concerned that McNabb could exacerbate the injury by playing.
"It's broken. I don't think you can make that part worse," Reid said. "We just have to see how he can function. I'm not going to put him out there if he can't function.
"Rib injuries are all different. This one's displaced a little bit and pretty painful. I know other guys have played with broken ribs. They're all different. It's hard to compare."
If it's simply a matter of pain tolerance, as often is the case with broken ribs, McNabb proved a long time ago he's a tough guy. He broke his right ankle in the first quarter against Arizona on Nov. 17, 2002, stayed in and threw four touchdown passes. McNabb missed the next six games, but returned for the playoffs.
He sat out the final seven games in 2005 with a sports hernia and a torn ACL cost him the last eight games in '06, including the playoffs. McNabb didn't play two games in 2007 because of ankle and thumb injuries.
"Donovan is resilient," teammate Brian Westbrook said.
Garcia, who was signed by Oakland in the offseason to push JaMarcus Russell and serve as a mentor to the former No. 1 overall draft pick, was released by the Raiders on Sept. 5 after playing little in the preseason.
A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Garcia played well in his previous stint with the Eagles three seasons ago, throwing 11 touchdown passes against two interceptions in eight starts.
The 39-year-old Garcia began his career with San Francisco in 1999. He replaced Hall of Fame QB Steve Young, put up big passing numbers with Terrell Owens as his main target and led the 49ers to two playoff appearances in his first three seasons as a full-time starter.
Garcia's career took a downward turn after he left the rebuilding 49ers in 2004. He spent forgettable seasons with Cleveland and Detroit before rejuvenating his career in Philadelphia in '06.
Garcia stepped in when McNabb tore his ACL, led the Eagles to a 5-1 record, an NFC East title and a playoff win over the New York Giants. His final game with Philadelphia was a loss at New Orleans in the divisional playoffs.
In his brief time with the Eagles, Garcia completely won over the tough Philly fans with his fiery personality and win-at-all-costs attitude.
A company made up T-shirts featuring Garcia with his fists up in a boxer's stance above the caption: "A Fighter Fights."
The Eagles didn't re-sign Garcia after that season and he went to Tampa Bay. Garcia led the Buccaneers to the NFC South title in 2007 and earned a trip to Hawaii.
Garcia has thrown for 25,537 yards, 161 touchdowns and 83 interceptions in 124 career games. He's completed 61.6 percent of his passes and has a QB rating of 87.5. Garcia is 58-58 as a starter.
"I didn't want it to be over," Garcia said. "I feel there's a lot of quality football left in me."
McNabb, Vick and Garcia have been to a combined 12 Pro Bowls.

pats got luckier than an irishman dancing in a clover patch. they are not going to be super dominant this year like a lot of "experts" seem to think. They have a crap D and not much of a running game. Chargers aren't going to be as good as predicted either. Never saw them being Super Bowl contenders like they were made out be anyway. They should win the division but that's because their division consists of the Raiders, Chiefs, and Broncos.
San Fran had a good win this weekend. We'll see if that was a fluke or the start fo a good year in the Bay.
Front lawn of Buffalo Bills CB Leodis McKelvin vandalized after defeat.

McKelvin's front lawn vandalized
Associated Press
HAMBURG, N.Y. -- Bills players are concerned with their privacy and safety after the front lawn of a home belonging to cornerback Leodis McKelvin was vandalized following Buffalo's season-opening loss to New England.
Hamburg police on Tuesday confirmed the home of a Bills player was vandalized, but declined to release details of their investigation after an obscenity and the score of Monday night's game -- a 25-24 loss to the Patriots -- were painted in white on the player's lawn in suburban Buffalo.
McKelvin fumbled a kickoff return with under two minutes to play and the Bills leading 24-19. Three plays later, New England's Tom Brady hit Benjamin Watson for the go-ahead touchdown as the Patriots overcome an 11-point deficit in the final 2:06.
Bills linebacker Kawika Mitchell referred to a teammate's home being vandalized in a post on his Twitter page, though he did not say it was McKelvin's home. Mitchell warned fans that such behavior is disturbing.
"W/ all the safety issues n the NFL its not funny at all," Mitchell wrote. "We have Fam at our homes to protect. If u show ur face on my prop Ill make sure I do everythin to keep my Fam safe."
Mitchell warned that he would consider vandalism threatening behavior if it happened to his home.
"Its my job to protect my home as it is the job of all home owners. Dont push the limit," Mitchell wrote.
Though Bills fans are passionate about their team, Monday's night's vandalism is surprising. Bills players previously have hailed the team's fans for being respectful and allowing players their privacy.
Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold declined comment by saying the team considers this a police matter.
A message left on a phone listed to McKelvin was not returned.
It's not clear if there was anyone at home at the time the vandalism occurred.
Bills players had the day off before returning to practice Wednesday to prepare to host Tampa Bay this weekend.
Bills safety George Wilson was shocked upon learning the news earlier in the day.
"To see that type of response from so-called passionate fans is taking things to the extreme," said Wilson, who is the team's union representative. "You can blog and make your opinions, but to go to a person's residence, you're taking it to a whole new level."
McKelvin, selected in the first round of the 2008 draft out of Troy, set a team record and ranked second in the NFL with 1,468 kickoff return yards last season. He also scored a touchdown.
He opened this season by taking over a starting job opposite veteran cornerback Terrence McGee.
After the game against the Patriots, McKelvin was criticized for running the ball out of the end zone rather than taking a knee. After being hit by Brandon Meriweather at the Bills 30, McKelvin attempted to gain an extra yard before being stripped of the ball by Pierre Woods.
Following the game, McKelvin said he was disappointed that he fumbled but noted he would run the ball out of the end zone again if given the same opportunity.
"Next time I get the opportunity, I am going to hold on and make a better decision," he said.
Coach [censored] Jauron defended McKelvin.
"He's a dynamic runner and he was trying to win a football game, ice a football game," Jauron said, adding that McKelvin attempted to protect the ball with two hands. "It's just one of those things that happens, but I don't have any problems with Leodis. He plays the game hard."
With a nod to Terrell Owens, defensive end Aaron Schobel was upbeat a day after yet another Monday night meltdown by the Bills.
"I think Terrell said it best before and after the game," Schobel said. "He said he's been on a lot of teams and said we've got talent. We've just got to put it together. I think he's right."
Schobel did express concern that the Bills continue to struggle to seal victories. They lost 29-27 to Cleveland on a Monday night last season on Phil Dawson's 56-yard field goal with 1:39 left. Two years ago on a Monday night, Buffalo gave up 9 points in the final 20 seconds in a 25-24 loss to Dallas.
"The bottom line is when you have a chance to win the game, win the game. We didn't do that," he said. "It's a long season and we're going to be all right. We've just got to get on a roll."

If you want to talk about sucky teams, let's go with the Rams. At least Washington showed effort against the Giants. St. Louis, OTOH- If Rachel Specter played QB against them, she'd have numbers like Drew Brees!

Yeah St. Louis is bad. Very bad. The Pats did get lucky but they did win the game. A win is a win. But I just don't see them being the 18-1 pats from 2 years ago.
On any given Sunday anything can happen. So San Fran could lose to all those teams and they could win a few of them. Seattle might be better than most think. A healthy Hasslebeck could be the difference there.

And after watching this guy in Denver last season I thought, yeah, he definitely has ability, but he makes some of the worst decisions you've ever seen.
I remember in one game last year the Broncos were backed up on 2nd or 3rd down, Cutler got chased way back out of the pocket towards the right side-line, and rather than getting rid of the ball, he decides to throw it almost horizontally left across the field, incomplete and nearly intercepted. What was funny about it was Madden was announcing the game, and even before Cutler threw it he was like "Oh no, don't even think about it Jay", or something.

He does that. The good thing about him though is besides his dumb moments he's good enough to still keep you in the game. Something the bears have not had. The bears were still in the game with the packers at the end until Jay chucked number 4
But he needs to be less Favre with the ball and be a bit more Brady...
How sweet it is... the Lions finally win a regular season game.

Sources: Miami Dolphins QB Chad Pennington done for season
ESPN.com news services
Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington has been initially diagnosed with a torn capsule in his throwing shoulder and the Dolphins expect him to miss the rest of the season, sources familiar with the injury he suffered Sunday told ESPN Senior NFL Analyst Chris Mortensen.
Pennington will seek a second opinion from orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews, who has performed two shoulder surgeries on the quarterback.
Pennington underwent tests Monday on his right shoulder, which he hurt early in the third quarter of Sunday's 23-13 loss at San Diego. He missed the rest of the game, and coach Tony Sparano said he didn't know how long Pennington will be sidelined.
Pennington has already had surgery on the same shoulder in 2004 and 2005.
Chad Henne, who went 10 for 19 for 92 yards with an interception, will likely make his first NFL start Sunday when the winless Dolphins play host to Buffalo.
"We're going to have to go out there with Henne, who is a lot less experienced," tight end Anthony Fasano said. "There is definitely going to be a learning curve for Henne. He can learn as much as he wants in a classroom, but until he's out on the field, in-game experience he's not going to learn.
"But we have a lot of faith in Chad. He's a smart guy, a great leader and fun to play with. We're just going to have to move on."
A second-round draft choice in 2008, Henne has been considered Pennington's heir apparent for more than a year. The challenge for the offense will be to develop a chemistry with Henne, receiver Greg Camarillo said.
"Chad [Pennington] is our leader," Camarillo said. "Any injury to him is an injury to our offense. But it's also an opportunity for Henne to step up. We've got faith in his quarterbacking abilities. It's time for him to show it off."
The score was 3-all when Pennington was hurt on a hit by linebacker Kevin Burnett as he threw a pass. The injury appeared to occur with the contact, which caught Pennington in an awkward position, rather than when he hit the ground, Sparano said.
"Kind of a weird-looking deal," Sparano said.
Linebacker Joey Porter, nursing a sore right hamstring, also was unable to finish the game because the muscle tightened. Sparano said Porter will be further evaluated this week.
The injuries are another blow for a team rapidly regressing after a great leap forward in 2008, when the Dolphins improved their victory total by 10 games and won the AFC East. Now they're 0-3, and only three teams since 1990 have gone to the playoffs after such a slow start.
Sparano said lineup changes are possible.
"I told this team yesterday, it's not OK to be 0-3," he said. "It's not acceptable. If there's a place where we can shake some things up, we will."

If this is true, it's no surprise to see that Crabtree now wants to talk to the 49ers who just happen to be 3-1. But they could still use a playmaker like him on offense badly. Bruce & Morgan are good options at WR for QB Shaun Hill, but Crabtree would probably make them an even stronger team with Gore missing some time.
But in the end, what are the Niners willing to pay him? I say, give him a reasonable offer that works for both sides & get him on the field ASAP. Crabtree was obviously worth the risk when they drafted him. So, I don't see a problem now bringing him in if he wants to be there.

Sources: Michael Crabree to talk to San Francisco 49ers
By Calvin Watkins ESPNDallas.com
DALLAS -- First-round draft pick Michael Crabtree left for San Francisco from Tampa, Fla., on Monday to renew contract talks with the 49ers, according to multiple sources.
Crabtree was unavailable for comment. The Dallas native and former Texas Tech receiver has been training in Tampa the past few weeks in Tampa.
Eugene Parker, Crabtree's agent, is scheduled to arrive in San Francisco on Tuesday. Parker declined comment when reached.
Crabtree, the 10th overall selection in last April's draft, is the only unsigned first-round pick. He has missed the first four weeks of the regular season.
The 22-year-old Crabtree is seeking money comparable to higher picks and has turned down the 49ers' offer for approximately five years and $20 million, with a reported $16 million guaranteed.
The 49ers have until Nov. 17 to sign Crabtree in order for him to play this season. If Crabtree is not signed and he is not traded, he would go back into the April draft.

The Pack/Vikes game definitely lived up to its hype. Favre sure put on one hell of a show, as did that crazy Jared Allen. And despite getting sacked to death, Aaron Rodgers played pretty damn good too. But in the end, the Vikes are 4-0.

Crabtree better sign with them, or what? He re-enters the draft and MAYBE goes as a late first round pick and makes way less than he could now?

Yeah, that's the one that we are all basically looking forward to. It should be really interesting to see how he fairs in a Vikes jersey in the place where he was worshiped to death.

The game is at John Madden's house?
THAT is funny.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Michael Crabtree agreed to a six-year contract in the wee hours Wednesday morning after several months of difficult negotiations.
The deal, first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, was confirmed by 49ers spokesman Bob Lange in a text message to The Associated Press early Wednesday.
Crabtree will get a six-year deal that he can void to five years if he meets undefined performance clauses, a league source told ESPN's Michael Smith.
The former Texas Tech star was the only draft pick who had yet to sign -- and rapper MC Hammer even got involved in finally making this happen.
Crabtree could provide the game-breaking wide receiver threat the 49ers have been lacking, assuming he can quickly learn the offense after missing all of training camp. The 10th pick overall, he also sat out offseason minicamps and organized team activities while recovering from a foot injury, but was a regular presence at the team's training facility.
The 22-year-old Crabtree and his agent, Eugene Parker, sat down with three top 49ers officials Tuesday in an attempt to work through his contract impasse. Crabtree had balked at a long-standing offer of approximately five years and $20 million with a reported $16 million guaranteed, instead seeking money comparable to higher draft picks.
Oakland Raiders receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, the No. 7 choice, signed a five-year contract that will guarantee him at least $23.5 million.
Jacksonville Jaguars top pick Eugene Monroe, taken eighth overall, signed a five-year, $25 million contract that includes $19 million guaranteed.
Coach Mike Singletary acknowledged last month that the 49ers discussed changing their offer to Crabtree, and team president Jed York said in mid-September that the team hoped for a face-to-face meeting with Crabtree but hadn't heard back from his representatives.
That meeting finally happened Tuesday at an undisclosed spot in the Bay Area away from the team's Santa Clara headquarters. Crabtree and Parker were joined by York, vice president of football operations Paraag Marathe and general manager Scot McCloughan. Hammer, a friend of Parker and Parker client Deion Sanders, was a participant to some degree at the hotel where negotiations took place.
It's not common for a player himself to join such contract talks.
Singletary, whose team leads the NFC West and at 3-1 is off to its best start since 2002, said Monday he would welcome Crabtree whenever he shows up to join the team.
The 49ers had until Nov. 17 to sign Crabtree for him to remain eligible to play this season. The team would have a seven-week window before the 2010 draft to trade Crabtree if he did not sign.
In August, a report surfaced that Crabtree was prepared to sit out all season, re-enter the draft in 2010 and wait for the hefty paycheck he thinks he deserves. ESPN.com quoted Crabtree's cousin and adviser, David Wells, about the possibility of a yearlong holdout. The 49ers then released a statement saying, "In our view, there have been open and positive conversations on both sides."
Crabtree caught 97 passes for 1,165 yards and 19 touchdowns last year during his sophomore season at Texas Tech. He finished his college career with 231 receptions for 3,127 yards and 41 touchdowns.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Cleveland Browns trade wide receiver Braylon Edwards to New York Jets
ESPN.com news services
The Cleveland Browns have traded troubled wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets.
In the deal, first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Jets sent key special-teams player Jason Trusnik, wide receiver Chansi Stuckey and a pair of draft picks to Cleveland.
Edwards, in his fifth season, did not arrive at the Jets' training facility in time for practice Wednesday morning, but general manager Mike Tannenbaum said he's expected to start immediately "if everything goes as expected."
That includes the team's next game Monday night at Miami.
In Edwards, the Jets obtained a receiver who gives rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez the legitimate deep threat they have lacked -- but who also faces an NFL investigation for off-the-field trouble.
"It's just another piece that we wanted to add," Tannenbaum said. "We're excited to get Braylon. We think he's going to help us. It was a position that we liked, but it was also a position we felt that if there was an opportunity to improve, we were going to go ahead and try to do that."
The league is probing whether Edwards violated the league's conduct policy following accusations he assaulted a friend of NBA star LeBron James outside a Cleveland nightclub Monday night.
Cleveland police are also looking into the incident.
Although Edwards hasn't been charged with a crime, the league's conduct policy states that discipline may be imposed for "the use or threat of violence."
Edwards has been involved in other off-field incidents, a factor commissioner Roger Goodell considers when handing out any discipline.
In March, Edwards was partying with suspended wide receiver Donte' Stallworth in Miami the night Stallworth later drove drunk and killed a pedestrian. Edwards was not with Stallworth at the time of the accident.
Last November, Edwards was fined $150 and given 30 hours of community service after he was found guilty of driving 120 mph.
"We went through thorough research," Tannenbaum said. "We're comfortable with adding Braylon. We'll cooperate with all the authorities, and we're glad he's here. We did our due diligence."
Browns coach Eric Mangini said the decision to deal Edwards was not a direct result of the altercation. He said Edwards did not ask to be dealt.
"This is a fresh start for Braylon," Mangini said. "It's a great opportunity for him and I expressed to him that I hope he takes advantage of it."
Edwards is the second big-play offensive weapon traded by Mangini, who sent tight end Kellen Winslow to Tampa Bay in February for draft picks.
The Jets, off to a 3-1 start, had been looking to replace Laveranues Coles in the starting lineup since allowing him to become a free agent in the offseason.
They looked into former Giants star Plaxico Burress' legal status before the draft, and were mentioned in possible trade talks for Denver's Brandon Marshall.
"We've been talking with Cleveland for a while and talking about different combinations and finally we were able to get a landing spot that was good for them and good for us," Tannenbaum said. "We're excited to add Braylon to our team."
San Francisco also filed tampering charges against the Jets in September, claiming they were nosing around wide receiver Michael Crabtree, the 49ers' top draft pick. The league is still looking into those charges.
"We deny the allegation, and it's with the league," Tannenbaum said.
Edwards has a year remaining on his contract, but the Jets had no immediate plans to sign him to a new deal during this season.
"Right now, our intentions are that he's going to be here with the contract we acquired in the trade," Tannenbaum said.
According to an NFL source, the Jets gave up draft picks in the third and fifth rounds in the deal, Schefter reported. The third-round pick is a conditional pick and could turn into second-round pick if Edwards catches a certain number of passes this season. That is said to be a high number, but if Edwards lights it up in New York the way the Jets are hoping, the Browns then would get a second-round pick in return.
Edwards, in his fifth season, has 10 receptions for 139 yards but was held to no catches for the first time in his career in the winless Browns' 23-20 overtime loss to Cincinnati on Sunday. His best season came in 2006, when he had 80 catches for 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns. But he faced criticism in Cleveland last season for the number of passes he dropped.
For his career, Edwards has 238 catches for 3,697 yards and 28 touchdowns.
It's the second major trade the Jets have made with the Browns and Mangini, their former coach. On the first day of the draft in April, New York acquired the fifth overall pick from Cleveland to select Sanchez; its second-rounder (No. 52); and defensive end Kenyon Coleman, safety Abram Elam and quarterback Brett Ratliff.
Stuckey, who won the No. 2 receiver spot opposite Jerricho Cotchery out of training camp, has 11 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. He was a seventh-round draft pick out of Clemson in 2007, but missed his first season with a foot injury. Stuckey had 32 receptions last season, catching three touchdown passes from Brett Favre.
Trusnik, signed as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio Northern in 2007, is a special-teams ace and backup linebacker. He was selected as the AFC's special-teams player of the week in Week 3 after forcing and recovering a fumble on a kickoff in the Jets' 24-17 win over Tennessee.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Come mid-season or after the last bye week (week 10)... we should have a good idea of who's the cream of the crop & of course the crap in the NFL. But right now, every undefeated team (Vikings, Colts, Giants, Saints, Broncos) is taking care of business as they are supposed to (besides the Broncos who we all thought would be a train wreck) and looking really sharp (which the Broncos have surprisingly done) so far. And the Bengals are hands down the other biggest surprise other than the Broncos this season.

What a good MNF. I rarely watch NFL but Dolphins/Jets was exciting, especially in a Miami sports bar/grill. There's always some New Yorkers in the crowd.

Here's a couple of thoughts I have.
I can't stand every team trying to run the wild cat and then looking like idiots doing it. Ronnie Brown is the master of the wild cat and he and the Phins should be the only teams to run it since they do it so damn well. I mean when you destroy the Pats(last season) and the Jets(this season) with it
There is a crazy amount of bottom feeders this season. I can not recall a season with so many talentless teams. It will be a fight to the finish for the top pick in next years draft(my money is on the raiders)
Derek Anderson completed 2 passes and the Browns won... that is just f'n insane. Bills should just cut the whole O after that.
If the dumb rumor of TO being traded to the bears is true i will kill myself. I do not want that piece of dog shi* on my team.
JaMarcus is the worst qb i have ever seen(and i have seen some horrific qb's being as I am a bears fan). He has no accuracy and is so lost out there he feels no pressure and has 0 pocket pres. Time to move on raiders.

this is a ton of [censored] sucking going on... this is pathetic.
during lions/steelers game no less.
"Enberg: What is it about Brett Favre ... when the bright lights are on, he is a neon performer! Fouts: He'd be pretty good in the dark, too! Enberg: [Laughs] Blindfolded, he'd beat ya! Fouts: Yeah. He's 40 years old. Amazing. Enberg: A stunning story that will be replayed in the history books forever. [Lions run for no gain.] Fouts: Getting back to Favre … people asked me in the preseason, 'Will all this going back and forth, all this retiring, unretiring … will it affect his legacy?' I said, 'what, are you kidding? His legacy? He's a Hall of Famer, 1st ballot.' He's got all the records, and he's still playing top notch at 40-years-old with a first place team! The Giants spent so much money on their D-Line, they may have wanted to invest a bit in their secondary. Injuries have hurt them in that area. Props to the Saints though, they played a perfect game and they needed to bring their A game. The Giants needed their A game and brought their C game.
God the skins are just terrible. I'd be ashamed to be a fan of theirs. Zorn/Campbell will not be their next year. You can take that to the bank. Though neither might make it til the end of the month.
Did someone forget to remind the Titans that they had a game this week? 45-0 at the half!
There is some seriously god awful football going on this year. Oakland, Washington, Tennessee, St. Louis, Buffalo, Cleveland.

I guess there is something to the old myth about not disgracing Pittsburgh's terrible towel. Tennessee stepped on the towel last season and since then they are 0-8 in meaningful games.

funny quote about raiders
Imagine: you're the Raiders facing fourth and one. You have a 260 lb. QB who's completing about 40% of his passes. Do you try sneaking it maybe, or throw a deep out? Sneak it you say? Sorry, you've just made yourself ineligible to coach the Raiders.

How's that Cutler deal working out for ya Bears fans. Saints are getting it handed to them by the Fins.
it's working out quite well in fact. It's not his fault that the GM can't sign an offensive line worth a damn, or get an OC who calls plays that haven't been seen already. I'll still take it. He just doesn't have anything to work with

pretty much KA summed it up.
Cutler has been one of the bright spots(although he has thrown some really dumb ints)
the OLine is top 5 worst running game the same
and we have a bunch of late round/undrafted guys taking up space in our secondary. Normally this works for the bears if you have a VET like Mike Brown(no longer on team) to help out.. but not this season.
KA i thought you were a chiefs fan?
Lovie needs to get in someones face and lose the "no emotion" act he has going on. Players need a lashing.
GM J.Angelo is a horrid GM who has only done a few good things since being with the bears(Cutler,Forte)

Cutler could use some good wr's too. If I had the chance to get a guy like cutler in place of a guy like orton I'd make the same deal. No one thought Orton would have as good a year as he is having. That porous O-line has hurt Forte as well, and without the ground game to help Cutler it makes it even harder.

The way cutler is playing today, I'm beginning to think that the Bears brought back Gross Rexman and put him in Cutlers jersey.

I thought Johnathan Quinn was the worst qb i have ever seen. How can an "athlete" have the same body type as conan obrian? He couldn't hit a target a foot in front of him.
I thought this.. until JaMarcus Russell. The worst qb of all time.

he had so much hype coming out of LSU, and he has been crap for the most part. He couldn't hit side of an outhouse if he fell off the hole.

The tripping call was made only because of the leg whip action of the dude. check out the play again and you see him fling his leg around. That was interpreted as a trip 'cause that's how it looked even though it wasn't.
Oh and the Vikings have a player named Jim Kleinsasser. His last name sounds like "flying saucer" when I heard it during the game.

There was also a phantom penalty on the Steelers earlier in the game that took away a Steeler touchdown. Not to mention the fact that there was holding on the Harvin kick return that wasn't called. So the Vi-queens fans should not be complaining. By the way how many turnovers did Favre have? 1 INT. returned for a touchdown and one fumble returned for a touchdown. That's Classic Favre for ya. Just wait till December and January, Vi-queen fans are gonna see a lot more of that.

Back in the 1970s there was a TV show called Sanford and Son. On one episode, they go on the game show "Let's make a deal" and the host asks if one of the characters (dressed as a viking) had a tube of lipstick. They guy says "Hey, I'm a vi-king not a vi-queen"
You know things are crazy when the Saints, Bengals, and Cardinals are all among the best teams in the NFL...

All the bad teams can't throw the ball. Years ago the running game was what you needed. But the way NFL rules have changed to favor the passing game means if you can't throw it they you're going to be bad. Just because so many teams can and that means easy points.
Quarterbacks are having off the chart games. So many this year have already come close to that perfect game rating of 158.3. Just because the rules do favor passing.

I just wanted to come in here and make fun of any Packer fans. The Vikings are obviously superior and Errant Rodgers even with his good numbers cannot beat Favre.

well by beloved bears are being smoked by the cards, I even tweeted larry fitz to take it easy on us, and he didn't listen
it's because
1) Angelo and the owners don't give a crap. They make money, and can make the playoffs every 3 years.
2) ROn Turner is the worst coach ever in the nfl. You could make Mauser the OC, and he'd be better.
3) The offensive line is so bad that you could breathe on the OL and they'd fall down.
4) TOmmie Harris is a tool. How do you punch someone in the fourth play? You know you get thrown out if you do. He's also the same player who Lovie Smith benched, called out in the public. And Lovie is a good friend of Tony Dungy, who hasn't sworn in his life.

it's because
1) Angelo and the owners don't give a crap. They make money, and can make the playoffs every 3 years. Agree. I hate him but hate him a little less since he this past off season finally made some moves to help us, but forgot about the D as a whole and the Oline(well he did sign bums)
2) ROn Turner is the worst coach ever in the nfl. You could make Mauser the OC, and he'd be better. Yes he sucks. With weapons like forte, olsen, hester, and Knox with one of the biggest arms in the nfl you should do more...but he is better than dink an dunk O we had before him
3) The offensive line is so bad that you could breathe on the OL and they'd fall down. I hate every single one of them. They all suck. I will give RT Williams a pass since he is young and this is his first season playing but the rest can all be cut and i will
4) TOmmie Harris is a tool. How do you punch someone in the fourth play? You know you get thrown out if you do. He's also the same player who Lovie Smith benched, called out in the public. And Lovie is a good friend of Tony Dungy, who hasn't sworn in his life.
After that I now have no respect for him. I hate dumb players, it's like look dude, we are already down guys on D because of injuries and you get your self ejected? for what cause i guy beat you? maybe DON'T suck

KA - In madden he would be on all pro i had him averaging 8.5 a carry once I started using him. Forte is too slow on the game so I traded him for a 1st round pick and J.Charles(speed!)

I'll answer my question as if i was starting a franchise and what order i would want the players...So I am not just picking guys who are doing good this season, but are overall the best.

No brady?
I'm a New Yorker so anything Boston I just despise. He's an over glorified pretty boy. I'd put him in top 5 but not my top 3. At least I didn't put Eli Manning in there.

Mark Sanchez is an awesome quarterback, probably the best in the NFL. He always makes 100% accurate throws, thinks before every decision he makes, and performs great under pressure. The Jets are definitely going to many Super Bowls as long as he is under center. [/Bart Scott sarcasm ]

Eli is actually having a good statistical year, his best yet. Their defense has been suspect the last few weeks though. Atlanta seems to be struggling a bit, perhaps the G-Men can right the ship against them.
