We discussed this a few months ago in the "Propose an Image Host" thread. It seems that the image hosts would rather people copied codes rather than reloading all the time. However, we discourage that on this forum because of the volume of hits our posts get. A popular post on SuperiorPics can get several thousand hits in just a few days. If the codes are also copied to other forums, it makes it more likely that those pics will stop being available fairly soon.

imageshack is by far the best of the bunch for both uploading & downloading ~ the most stable & reliable ..... when you have the imageshack toolbar installed along with your own personal imageshack account(s) the upload feature automatically added inside your folder options dropdown box is unbeatable !! of the thousands of pics that i have posted here at SP at least 95% of them are hosted on imageshack
my next choice would be shareavenue which i only use because of imageshacks 1.5mb limitation so for very large pics or animated gifs shareavenue is the way to go
i occasionally use imagevenue or one of the others just to shake things up & try something new once in awhile

I have a nice tool to upload pics. It allows uploads to imagevenue, imageshack, paintedover, supload and shareavenue. But I only upload to imagevenue or shareavenue because I think they are the best.
For downloading pics I use a tool too. Downloads from imagevenue, imageshack and paitedover are without problems. I doesn't work with shareavenue but version 2 of this tool is announced for next month. And I think version 2 will be able to download from shareavenue.
I don't need fileden, upqt and Zshare. Often I'm not able to watch pics on Zshare in the full size.

This would make logical sense since space on their servers wouldn't be taken up by dupes of the same image. But I agree, the real problem comes from copying and pasting of ENTIRE posts. Really disrespectful to the original poster (even if he/she is credited) because it took a lot of work to get them up in the first place. If I download a pic or a post from Imagevenue and I wish to share it elsewhere, for example I'll reupload to Paintedover.

That's already in the rules: Rules of Conduct
6) Please Do Not copy and paste image codes from this forum onto another forum and from another forum to here, unless you are the original uploader. Image links tend to die quickly when copied onto other sites. This is also considered a rude and lazy action because it takes time and work for the original poster to upload their pictures.
But we may need to think of the wording of that to see if it's the best we can do.
Let me think about that, I'll see what I can come up with.
Edit: What do you think of this?
Do not borrow or copy the image codes from another person's posts, either from this or other forums. Besides being rude and inconsiderate of the effort and work that they put in to uploading those pictures to share, overuse of links can cause hosting sites to shut them down. We are here to share and discuss pictures, just be polite enough to re-upload them yourself and give credit where it is due.
I like Imageshack all around. I use a Mac with DTA and love it.

My faves are ImageShack and PaintedOver.
I uploading to PaintedOver, because Shell Uploader works well with it, and PaintedOver detects the uploads and allows me to add them to my account space next time I log in.
ImageShack's new interface is really cool, and makes uploads much easier than before. Their Quickloader is great for upping a few pics, but only works one at a time, so is not feasible for large posts. Shelluploader works here too, but the pics don't get put into my account. To ensure that they don't get deleted, I have to use their web page uploader or Quickload.
I don't notice any big difference in downloads with my cable connection. All downloads are quick.
