would take the person to the thread that tells who the girl
is and who made the banner; etc....

I could take it even further. Not only could I link it to this thread, but I could also include an alternate text tag that will display the celebrities name when the mouse is hovered over the image.
No offence to Snoop or Sarsen, but I think that's all that's needed. Unless you'd want to find out information about the previous banners, that is.

It could maybe be duplicated to the requests section as an 'announcement' thread but as Sarsen said this section isn't used that much and this thread is usually the top topic, so can easily be seen from the Main menu. There has only been one request made about it since this thread was created so I'd say it's working pretty well

I just thought more people are likely to look in the Requests section rather than the Webmaster section in general, thus enabling the thread to be seen more often; hence the suggestion.
But, like I've just said above, I wasn't aware that Sarsen had already suggested the very same thing.
