Rapidshare has reduced Download speed to 62KB/sec for "free users"

This sucks.
Now it takes reeeally long to DL files, no matter how fast your broadband is.

3)Is it safe to subscribe from rapidshare?

I am a premium user. I paid around $9.00 about 2 years ago for
my first month and have been extending my account with premium points
ever since. I get DL Speed at best around 550 KB/sec to 600 KB/sec
The speed varies a lot from one DL to the next. That is about all
I can expect from my dsl service. I suppose it is safe to subscribe.
I have had no problems.

Try it for a month. It's not very expensive.

i think that because what rapid did to all
the free users{that i am one of them}we need to stop
us rapidshare an teel they will speed up the download
speed as it was in the past!!!

I don't know if it's because I'm from Austria, but since they've changed to the new system. I've noticed dl-speeds as high as 110 kbits/sec (usually around 90-100 kbits/sec when I look) - I know it isn't as high as I used to be, but according to rapidshare.com depending on usage and connection you can download at a speed as high as 500 kbits/sec as a free user.

Of course the speed is slower than it used to be, but I've realized that the overall speed is now faster, since I'm able to download about 150 - 250 MBs/h from rapidshare depending on if I download something else or not. Which I wasn't able to do because of that stupid waiting time.

Well that sucks!

for me, it depends on the time of the day.
from midnight until about 4pm I usually get between 300-600Kb/s, and occasionally upto 1.5Mbps.
But peak hours 4pm-10pm, I only get 90Kb/s-200Kb/s.
I think that is a lot to do with my Isp's 'traffic shaping'

Im a vid capper,i was given a free 1 month account by m.v.p [anoher capper]
since then ive extended my account till 21st jan 2009,given away about 8 accounts to friends and currently have 15,000 + points,i never had to pay for my RS premium account and i never will if i continue to cap videos and post them

I always max out my upto 8mb adsl @ 780k a second on RS,even peak times
[Im synced @ 7368k on a B/Ras/IP Profile of 6.5mbit].amazing considering im with BT :P
