Preface: I wanted to see this movie more than almost every movie coming out this summer. I was super hyped. SUPER.
What I liked: Noomi Rapace- She was 50 types of awesome. Not only is she stunning to look at but she was this movie. Take her out and I dunno.... Also her in that bandage outfit is going to be hard to top as the hottest thing put on film this year. Holy shit her body is insanely fit and perfect.
Visuals- The cinematography was very very nice and well done. The beginning sequence was beautifully shot.
Idris Elba- Brought his staple... coolness.
Backstory- I was happy to see where the aliens came from and what the trunked thing was from Alien.
Conclusion- It was a decent conclusion and did a good job showing where the movies came from(sort of..at least the creature part)
What I didn't like
Casting- I love Charlize Theron as much as the next guy and she looked super hot in this film with some nice ass shots..but what was the point of having her in this film? she was pointless and didn't bring anything to the story or anything. I assume they put her so that at least one of the crew was unlikable to the viewer but... I just didn't see the point of having her. I guess her having the medical pod was her biggest contribution to the movie. Guy Pearce... why the fuck would you have Guy Pearce in your movie if you're going to make his old as fuck? why not just hire an actual old guy? It's like they thought "hey last cast a name actor and slap old guy makeup on him" btw that old guy makeup looked pretty shitty. I knew it was a young guy. Stupid. Making Fassbender a robot is sort of a waste of his talent. Most anyone can play that role.
Pacing- Much like all the alien movies this had some slow parts that became too boring and made me sleepy. The whole first act was sort of blah boring time.
Character development- I honestly didn't give a shit about a single character in this movie except Elizabeth Shaw(Noomi). They had almost no development and were expendable.
Side Note:Logan Marshall-Green could be Tom Hardy's brother.
Overall: I liked it but didn't love it. It failed my expectations.
