I thought the first movie was one of the worst films of all time and it contains the worst scene of all time.

I do not read the comics.

But... I was stoked to see this because of who directed it. The Great duo of Neveldine/Taylor who do so many innovative things with their camera work and overall look of their movies while remaining on smaller budgets than most big action films. They are super creative. I love super creative people. If you watch any of their extras on crank,crank2,gamer you too will probably become fans of these two as well.


The look of the movie was good. The camera work had that famous Neveldine on skates behind the action guerilla style these guys love to employ. The CGI when purely ghost rider was good but pretty shotty when he's sort of transforming and then bouncing back to normal. I thought he looked pretty bad ass esp when cocking his head back and forth in a sort of curious/menacing way.

The kid in this movie wasn't an annoying little shit like most kids. His mother was super hot. Johnny Whitworth was one of the main bad guys and as usual he was super cool(he's sort of like Timothy Olyphant in a way. he's just fucking cool)

My main problem with the movie was the story. It was fucking weak. I am not a fan of stories like this one. The scope is too big and the resolution comes too easy which makes the pay off seem cheap because it shouldn't be so easy.My only other problem was Nic Cage when he would go all zany wild man on us and it wasn't needed in this movie.The movie is tongue in cheek a lot of the time which is fine because Neveldine/Taylor do that well but it was a bit over the top when he was being "crazy". It was like watching Andy Samberg's version of Cage on snl.

The action was good and some of the 3D effects were well done and used the medium well. All the scenes with the monks were sort of lame but the setting and buildings were cool. The animation stuff was really cool looking.

Most of this movie was a fun entertaining ride. But a few things were meh. If you like the comic or some how liked the huge pile of shit that the first one was you'll like this. This one was 100 times better than the first.
