This is where you can post an imagehost for us to consider within Rule 5.
We'll take a look and if it is acceptable we may allow it.
1. It must be stable with limited or no bandwidth restrictions.
2. It CANNOT have popups or any hint of spyware/adware.
3. It CANNOT be used for monetary gain or viewership gain (such as imagecash or your own startup imagehost)
4. It must be freely usable with no registration required to view pics.
5. Thumbnails should link directly to its full size version or the html page containing it. No additional redirecting.
6. And it must be somewhat popularly used in other sites/forums.

5) Hotlinking, which is the the linking to an image on someone else's website, is prohibited.
When sharing pictures, use UBB/Forum thumbnail code through any of these ALLOWABLE imagehosts:

* Any member who makes a post not using a host listed above will be notified to use another appropriate source listed and the thread will be locked. If a member continues to use these he/she may be prohibited from posting. Also if we feel the member is using an imagehost as spam, he/she will be warned and may be prohibited from posting. No startup imagehosts are allowed without permission.
The use of the hosts ImageCash, CashMoneyUploads, imagebucks, imagefly, or any other "cash for images" sites are strictly prohibited.
Recommended Video hosts vary but include

I have seen mediaupload being used in some places, seems to work reasonably well.

Why is megaupload banned, aside from slow downloads it is good to have a host that keeps a video for a month. A video posted here on one of the others will vanish in three minutes courtesy of the unwashed and unregistered.

I have an account at Photobucket.com, which is free and as far as I know does not do popups or the like. I use this for my avatar and, with permission, any pics I'd submit. Is this OK?

I used to be a fan of Mediaupload but not anymore. They've been having lots of problems over the past couple of months. I wouldn't recommend them until they improve.

It could also be because paintedover is having some issues recently. Sometimes you wait a couple of hours and the pics start working again.

photobucket is not good because I've never seen thumbnails. And popular pics get deleted quickly.

I have been checking out picsplace.to, 1.5 Mb limit, only single imageuploads unfortunately, but seems to be working okay and has been stable so far.

The problem I see with Paintedover is the adult ads it puts on the display pages. AdultFriendFinder is not exactly family oriented.

First, I do like Mediaupload.net. I don't love them, but I like them.
Secondly, glorificus, nobody ever said that MegaUpload.com is banned. The rules only say that Rapidshare is the preferred video file host. Since Rapidshare doesn't host videos in excess of 100 MB, the only alternatives are to allow a file host that allows larger files, or have an upper limit of 100 MB videos on SP. I use Megaupload to share videos on several forums including SP. It is reliable now and provides decent upload and d/l speeds.
As so far as Paintedover is concerned, I'm forced to use it at present because my ShellUploader will not upload to ImageShack. So unless I want to upload images manually, I have to choose to use one of the three hosts that ShellUploader will support. And of those choices, I doubt anybody wants me to use Uploadhouse or Fapomatic. Until I get a fix for ShellUploader, I either have to use Paintedover, or restrict my posts to not more than 20 images. Those members who know my style know that I like to do high volume posts. Remember my 2,631 image "Asian Invasion" megapost?

All my pic posts (OK so they're not that many, but still) have been made with Photobucket and they have proper thumbnails. My my pics haven't been deleted so far.
For pics 512k and below, its a good option. Maybe not so for the UHQ posters, but for the casual poster (like me) it works like a charm.

I havent had any stability or problems and no pops. I allow people to hotlink the thumbs and never delete the photos unless they are reported by a copyright owner. Unlimited bw/views for the photos and thumbnails like imageshack. 3mb image size limit allowing more HQ images, multifile uploader as well.
I tried to make it as easy and painless as possible to upload and view photos, so if you wish to add the site to the list its ok with me, but its up to you. I will continue to post using it as my own site no matter what the decision.

(UPLOADING DISABLED, due to such high traffic all our servers literally stopped working because of it, we're moving to a 32 processor sun server with over 2TB of data storage available. All SUN POWERED from now on, so we'll never have problems like these again. Sorry for all the trouble.)

OK, subtracted from the list are imagehigh and jpghosting,
while added are mediaupload, upqt.com, picsplace.to
and megaupload for videos.
Rapidshare has also been deleted, but NOT banned from here. Rapidshare has become lousy for downloaders, you have to wait 1 hour to download another file.

Photobucket is being mis-perceived here. It has no pop-ups (they eliminated them over a year ago and they never existed for premium account holders) and they DO have thumbnails and other code generation, -which I was forced to investigate and exploit when I discovered SP and found I couldn't post anything but thumbnails. Since then I've made dozens of posts without any of the imagined problems associated with lousy hosting sites. In fact in the final 31 day period of '05 my galleries received over 800,000 hits with over 20Gig of data tranfer. I've not heard of any problems at all. So please visit my site or my old posts to see that there is no problem (though I do sometimes put pics in temporary albums and later break the links when I move them to permanent albums.) They changed their TOS again, now it is again open for guests to UL files, but they stay only 1 month online. You have to register (of course  ) so they would stay online for forever (whatever that means).
