In addition to the ability to draw from franchise classics and newcomers alike, Soulcalibur IV boasts a more and more attractive character roster with each passing day. The likes of Darth Vader, Yoda, and Vader's apprentice have all been confirmed thus far, and a new rumor suggests that the PlayStation version of the game will be getting another secret character: Kratos.
EGM's insider sneak "Quartermann" dropped the rumbling on 1UP this week, suggesting that the cameo from the God of War antihero will be announced officially pretty soon. The Soulcalibur franchise has been in the habit of offering some pretty bizarre and platform-specific characters for a while now. Soulcalibur II starred Venom, Heihachi, and Link for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and Gamecube releases across the board, so this wouldn't be a surprising strategy to see for the latest iteration.
Now begins the speculation of which character the Xbox 360 version will get. Master Chief with an Energy sword, anyone? Soulcalibur IV is slated to hit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on July 29.
