An annonymous source has revealed that Tiger Woods will miss the remainder of the golf season due to the injuries he suffered during the U.S Open. Tiger had missed two months prior to the Open due to cartiledge being taken out of his left knee. Woods then developed a stress fracture, which caused the pain he experienced beginning around the 3rd round of the tournament. The official word is expected to be posted on his website later today.

Now Now Dan5 Phil has won 3 majors I love Tiger and Phil they're both great players and great for the game and FYI Phil has something Tiger doesn't he won a PGA tour event as an amateur !! Tiger's out for the year maybe now we can win a Ryder Cup the Euro's will come in expecting to win and the US team will use the Tiger injury as inspiration.. one can hope !!!! here's a link from espn

To win after 91 holes of golf with those kind of injuries is.. brilliance. I'd use the word 'superhuman' but if that were the case, he'd not be missing the rest of the year!

A torn ligament AND two stress fractures. Looks like Tiger will be out for a while. But we shouldn't feel sorry for him. Tiger will just sit back, count his millions, and have his hottie of a wife take care of him. That's still a pretty sweet life.

Tiger probably looks at it as missing 2 tournaments and 1 event. This years remaining majors, The British Open and PGA. Plus The Ryder Cup. The FedEx Cup is no big deal to him. Hopefully he'll be ready for next years Masters.
PS. Are any network TV contracts for Golf done after this year? Negotiations for new ones would be hard to do with the uncertainty of Tiger and his injuries.

Despite himself, I have to believe it was pretty moronic of him. Yes, he won on a bum knee, but he further destroyed an injury that otherwise would've knocked him out, what, a few weeks at most? Pain is easy to disregard with if you try hard enough. Making smart decisions, on the other hand, seems to be surprisingly difficult for some.

I'll bet while covering the remaining PGA events ESPN still shows Tiger Woods highlights. He could be 10 strokes back and they would still show him and ignore the leaders.
