Found this in The Sun newspaper today.
THE world’s fastest woman driver could be heading to Formula 1 to take on Lewis Hamilton & Co. American beauty Danica Patrick has qualified a sensational fifth for this month’s Indianapolis 500 at an AVERAGE speed of more than 225mph.
The 26-year-old Indycar driver – a superstar in the States because of her raw courage combined with pin-up looks – is a genuine contender for victory in the self-styled "world’s greatest race".
But Danica, who claimed her first Indycar win at Japan’s Motegi circuit last month, may harbour even more lofty ambitions.
Asked if she would like a chance in F1, she said: "Every driver would love to drive a Formula 1 car at some point in their life, so yeah. But it would have to be a real, proper test.
"I was asked to do a demonstration lap at the American Grand Prix at Indianapolis a couple of years ago and I said, ‘No way, you’re making me a show.’
"But I would say a real test is absolutely something I would do. I’m not sure where it would fit into my schedule but we could work something out."
Raven-haired Danica would be a massive marketing asset to any F1 team. And she already has strong links with Honda, who supply the engines to the Indycar field.
The Japanese giants have no immediate plans to strap her into one of the F1 cars normally driven by Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello.
But Honda’s F1 boss Nick Fry said: "If Danica wanted a test drive we would be more than happy to talk about it."
Meanwhile Danica, who spent her early career racing Formula Ford cars in Britain, must concentrate on the Indy 500 and the Indycar championship.
She is glowing with confidence. Even after her 225mph qualifying, she said: "I wish we could have found some MORE speed but unfortunately we didn't. Believe me, it was not from a lack of trying."
She will line up at Indy three places behind British ace Dan Wheldon, who will start on the front row alongside Kiwi pole-sitter Scott Dixon.
Following her win at Motegi, Danica now believes the Indycar championship is a realistic target.
She said: "I’ve always thought I was someone who could compete for a championship because I’m a consistent driver. But until now what I hadn’t done was win races. Hopefully more wins will come now – and will come easier. They always say the first one is the hardest."

Heres my take on Danica. She is good, and shows a great deal of potential, and seems very strong on the ovals these days. However, i do feel that she is very suspect on the road courses, and seeing as F1 is all road course i think that she would be just there for marketing purposes. Perhaps in a few more years maybe. And anyway, id rather she stayed in IndyCars because its a better series.

She should run NASCAR. I'm not talking full time, but she should run at INDY. That seems to be her favorite track. It would be great cross promotion for both NASCAR and IRL. She would probably get a good payday no matter where she finished.
