My ratings for the night (not that they matter, but just feel like sharing):
Ric Flair Vs. MVP - 6/10
- Was your basic match, didn't hold much interest for me. Probably would have been better for either Raw or Smackdown.
Jericho Vs. JBL - 6/10
- Same as above. Didn't really hold much interest. Jericho was a bloody mess, but the action itself was rather uneventful.
Edge Vs. Mysterio - 7/10
- A little better, but still lacked what it could have been. The idea of taking Rey's knee out was a bit overplayed and really killed the flow of what could have been a pretty good match. The ending wasn't that bad, but did Vicki really have to get involved?
Orton Vs. Hardy - 7/10
- Very disappointed. With the build up over the last several weeks, I was expecting a better finish. The pace of the match was a bit too slow for both those guys. They were capable of having a more prolific ending than the "twist of fate counter into an RKO." That was pathetic.
Santino/Ashley/Maria segment - 7/10
- I would have given this an 8 for Santino constantly giving us Italians a bad rep and for Maria looking hot, but I did not enjoy Big Dick Johnson, especially wearing a Tom Brady jersey. Yuck. Go Giants!!!
Royal Rumble - 8/10
- Overall, a pretty decent Rumble match. Cena, HHH, Piper, and Snuka got huge entry pops from the crowd. Cena in the match was definitely a surprise that no one could have predicted. I wish Michaels and Taker would have been around near the end. Loved the quick exit by Santino at the beginning. I also loved the complete stoppage in the ring when Hornswoggle came out. That was classic. Not the best Rumble, but held my interest throughout.

Cnea returns from a complete tear of the pectoral muscle five months early? Steroids are a hell of a drug...
Boo. That's what I say. The shows haven't been great since the early part of this decade, but they have been better since Cena left. Instead of knowing for certain that the bad guy getting built up was definitely going to lose, then disappear into the midcard, we've had some really interesting storylines. Oh, and the WWE Championship match hasn't been a total clusterfuck now that Cena hasn't been involved.
But now, once again, the WWE title match will be the worst of the night, because Cnea's going to win it back, and hold it for another year. He's a horrid wrestler, and simply can't draw.
Oh well. There's always ROH.

Cena cant draw? Its only the pure wrestling fans that believe that. Cena is a cash cow for the WWE. If you dont go to event to cheer him, you go to boo him. If shirts, CD, and movie sold millions of copies which means the only thing Vince cares about, money.

full Rumble thoughts to come later, but...
The people complaining about Cena winning? Who would you rather have had won HHH? Then for sure we would have been headed for HHH/Orton, which we have seen too many times before, or HHH/Orton/Hardy and 3-ways don't have a sterling history of being great wrestling matches. Going in I was really pulling for the Undertaker because I think Taker/Edge is a unique matchup. When he went out I was afraid we were doomed with another HHH win, so Cena coming out and winning was the best possible result in my eyes.
When Cena got injured last year, all I was hoping for was his return to face Orton at Mania for revenge. Never thought it would, because he was supposed to be out till May, but DAMN! Best Rumble ever! Maybe, maybe not, but whatever. That's how you do a mother f*cking swerve, making us thinking Triple H would win.
Bring on Mania!!!! F*ck the internet...i cant wait!!

fuck me steroids arent a magic pill it wasnt roids that got him to the dance it would have been **** loads of hard work and some good story telling/lieing by wwe about the extent of the injury

When John Cena had surgery four months ago to repair his torn pectoral muscle, WWE reported that the recovery time would be 6-9 months. Recent interviews by Cena confirmed that he was still on that same recovery schedule, which made last night's return at the Royal Rumble a huge surprise.
When John Cena and WWE received word that he was physically cleared to wrestle, they immediately decided to keep it a secret to mislead people as to his true health status.
News about Cena starring in the new WWE Films project "12 Rounds" is true. What wasn't true is the time it will take to film the movie. Cena told the UK Sun newspaper last week that it would take 5 months to film. In reality, this was greatly exaggerated. WWE has applied for permits to film in New Orleans, which will take 4-6 weeks.
Because Cena will be filming in the United States, he'll be able to make appearances on WWE television leading up to WrestleMania.
